Walkthrough
- 1The multilevel dungeon beneath your stronghold is explored as you become powerful enough.

Level 2 - Xaurip Base
- Ensure Kana is in your party before proceeding to level 2.
- The energy barrier to the stairs to level 2 has dissolved.
- Engage scouting mode to spot a hidden cache containing a random accessory.
- Head downstairs to the second level, arriving at the western end.
- Engage scouting mode and head south down the passageway, watching for a level 4 trap.
- Head east down the passageway and be careful near the doorway at the end, where a group of Xaurips, including a Champion and a Wurm, are located. A level 2 trap is also present across the doorway.
- Turn off AI to prevent party members from triggering the trap. Allow enemies to come to you and use the doorway to your advantage.
- Retreat west to draw out the Wurm and a Skirmisher that hang back.
- Loot the Xaurips for a Wurm Wing, a new crafting ingredient.
- Search pots for minor loot and keep scouting mode engaged for a level 1 trap on the hut's doorway.
- Search the hut for the Broken Blade, which initiates the task The Blade of the Endless Paths.
- Backtrack to the previous passageway and follow it north.
- Kill the patrolling Wurm and Xaurip and enter the northwest room to find a prostrate Xaurip.
- Examine the Xaurip; if you have sufficient Survival skill, you will realize it has been poisoned.
- The hallway to the east is patrolled by three Skirmishers and four Wyrms.
- After defeating them, search one of the hatched eggs to obtain the Tiny White Wurm pet.
- Continue east, looking for a hidden stash containing a Fine Club and Camping Supplies.
- Ignore the stairs to level 3 for now and follow the passage round.
- Deal with Xaurips and Wurms, then go west a short distance to find a room with a level 6 Noxious Burst Trap across the doorway.
- Inside, find a body with the unique Hand and Key breastplate and read Faramund's Curse.
- Return to the previous hallway and continue south.
- Kill Skirmishers and Wurms, then search shelves for loot including Fine Leather Armour.
- Rest if needed before entering the next room, which contains the boss.
- Enter to find the Xaurip High Priest conducting a ritual over a Sacrificial Pit.
- Hostilities begin immediately with a large number of Xaurips, Skirmishers, Priests, and two Wurms. Use ranged attackers against the Wurms and send melee attackers after them when possible.
- After clearing the area, engage scouting mode and move left of the pit to find a body.
- Search the remains for the unique Measured Restraint rapier.
- Interacting with the pit offers an opportunity to climb down, but this leads to level 5 where monsters are much tougher and the journey is one way only.
Level 3 - Ogre Lair
- From the stairs, follow the passage north.
- The container at the end is trapped (level 4).
- Head through the doorway to meet Thulgar.
- Speak to Thulgar to learn about his tribe's plight and initiate Desperate Measures by promising to deal with Zolla.
- Head south across the bridge and then east to find two Ogres.
- A body with minor loot is at the bottom of the passage.
- Head back west up the passage and fight through more Ogres.
- Ignore the small bridge leading north for now.
- Enter the passageway the third Ogre came from.
- Going west from here leads to the Master Staircase, a shortcut to level 1. Use the pressure plate to unlock the route to the dungeon entrance.
- Head back down and go east to find two more Ogres.
- A level 6 trap is across the passageway to the south and another to the east.
- Deal with two Ogres and an Ogre Druid in the area above. The Druid inflicts debilitating effects.
Tips
- Make sure Kana is in your party before proceeding to level 2.
- Engage scouting mode frequently to spot traps and hidden caches.
- Turn off AI when approaching the doorway with the level 2 trap and the Champion/Wurm encounter to avoid triggering the trap.
- Use doorways to your advantage in combat.
- Retreating west on level 2 can help isolate enemies.
- Be cautious of the level 6 Noxious Burst Trap on level 2.
- Consider resting before the boss encounter on level 2 if you have taken significant damage.
- Resist the temptation to descend the Sacrificial Pit on level 2, as it leads to a much more dangerous area (level 5) with no easy return.
- The Master Staircase on level 3 provides a useful shortcut to level 1.
- Level 2: Broken Blade (initiates The Blade of the Endless Paths), Tiny White Wurm pet, Hand and Key breastplate, Measured Restraint rapier.
