The Mariana Trench — Pathways into Darkness Walkthrough

The player is a U.S. Army Special Forces member tasked with entering a pyramid in the Yucatan Peninsula to detonate a nuclear device and stun an ancient god, the Dreaming God, before it fully awakens.

Your parachute fails during deployment, separating you from your team and leaving you with only a flashlight and survival knife.

The Dreaming God, creator of the pyramid and its monsters, will awaken in five game days.

Gameplay blends first-person shooter, RPG, and survival horror elements. You'll fight monsters, solve puzzles, and converse with the dead via a magic yellow crystal to uncover secrets.

Combat requires careful strategy; monsters respawn, ammo is scarce, you move at the same speed as enemies, and health is regained by resting (which speeds up time) or rare blue potions.

Conversations with the dead provide puzzle clues, monster strategies, and story information. Use keywords to get responses.

Items found increase your score and health. Weapons are crucial for combat. Crystals offer special powers but shatter after repeated use (except the yellow crystal). Potions provide temporary buffs. Miscellaneous items are used for puzzles or inventory. Treasures increase score and health.
