To mine rocks in Old School RuneScape, you must have a pickaxe. The higher the quality of your pickaxe, the less time it will take to extract ore from a rock. The ability to use better pickaxes is determined by your Mining level.

All types of pickaxes can be purchased from Nurmof, who is located in the Dwarven Mines.

Here is a list of the different kinds of pickaxes:

• Bronze Pickaxe: Requires Mining level 1 to use. Costs 1 GP.
• Iron Pickaxe: Requires Mining level 4 to use. Costs 137 GP.
• Steel Pickaxe: Requires Mining level 6 to use. Costs 490 GP.
• Mithril Pickaxe: Requires Mining level 21 to use. Costs 1,300 GP.
• Adamant Pickaxe: Requires Mining level 31 to use. Costs 3,200 GP.
• Runite Pickaxe: Requires Mining level 41 to use. Costs 32,000 GP.
