Old School RuneScape Crafting Guide

This guide covers various methods for training the Crafting skill in Old School RuneScape, from early-game clay working to more advanced techniques involving leather, holy symbols, and flax.

Walkthrough

Clay Crafting: Start with a pickaxe, jug, and chef's hat. Mine 27 clay west of Varrock. Go to the Cooking Guild (north) to wet the clay. Travel to Barbarian Village to craft. Drop items on the way back to the mines. Repeat. This is effective until reaching the Crafting Guild (level 40 Crafting) with level 31 Cooking.

Leather Crafting: Obtain cow hides from cows near Lumbridge (can be crowded). Travel to Al Kharid. Buy a needle and thread from the Al Kharid crafting store. Use the bank there. Trade cow hides for leather at the tanners (1gp per hide). Use the needle on the leather to craft armour, gloves, or boots.

Holy Symbol of Saradomin: Mine silver ore in the Scorpion Pit (desert chasm) using 20 Mining. Smelt the silver into bars with 20 Smithing. Go to Al Kharid and buy a Holy Symbol of Saradomin mould for 5gp from the crafting store. Keep the mould and silver bars in your inventory. Use silver bars on a furnace to craft Holy Symbols of Saradomin. To string them: use shears on a sheep for wool, use wool on a spinning wheel to make a ball of wool, then use the ball of wool on the symbol. Blessed symbols can be obtained at the monastery for longer prayer duration.

Flax Spinning (Members): Go south of Seer's Village to flax plants. Each flax plant yields 15 Crafting experience when spun into bowstrings. Use the spinning wheel on the second floor of a house in Seer's Village. Strings can be stored at the Catherby bank.
