Learn how to defeat Bishaten in Monster Hunter Rise. This guide covers Bishaten's weaknesses, elemental and ailment susceptibilities, and detailed attack patterns.

Fighting Bishaten at the Shrine Ruins. This cheeky creature might not seem dangerous at first glance, but it can easily make a mockery of you, if you don’t take it seriously. Bishaten is notable for having a giant tail, used for attacking or to prop itself up. It also has wings on its forearms, allowing for a small degree of gliding.

As shown in its introductory movie, Bishaten can utilize fruits as weapons. The fruits themselves don’t do a lot of damage, but they can annoy you and, worse of all, inflict poison.

Stats / Weaknesses:

  • Parts: Head and Tail
  • Elements: Ice
  • Ailments: Blast and Iceblight

Attack Patterns:

  1. Swipe: A somewhat rare attack where Bishaten swipes forward using its forearms.
  2. Lunge: Bishaten does a quick backflip, menacingly crouches down, then throws itself forward a considerable distance.
  3. Side Tail Slam: Bishaten looks over its shoulder, then quickly slams its tail forwards.
  4. Flash Bomb: Bishaten covers its face with its arms and sparks will appear near its mouth. It will pass the fruit to its tail, then slam its tail down, causing a flash bomb. If you’re too close, you’ll be stunned for several seconds.
  5. Poison Tail Slam: The monkey will grab one fruit from its belly pouch and give it to its tail. Then it’ll do an overhead slam with its tail, causing the fruit to explode. Getting too close to the purple gas may inflict poison. Bishaten will idle for a while after this attack.
  6. Wild Fruit Toss: Bishaten grabs one fruit in each hand and tosses these two fruits forward. After a brief pause, it’ll usually toss a lot more fruit.
  7. Arm/Wing Sweep: When Bishaten is standing on its tail, it may do a sweeping motion with its arms. It can also roll around with its tail, then perform an arm sweep or two. Bishaten can raise one of its forearms high up and sweep the ground with its wing.
  8. Rapid Tail Slam: When Bishaten is standing with its tail, it makes a menacing face and looks like it’s ready to pounce. Soon afterwards, it’ll spin and slam its tail down two or three times in a row.
  9. Fruity Tailspin: Bishaten lobs two fruits to its tail, then quickly spins its tail to hit whatever is ahead.
  10. Corkscrew Charge: Bishaten will twirl around while on its tail to gather momentum, then rush forward through the air, while spinning like a drill. There’s an audible warning for this move.
  11. Moving Fruit Toss: Bishaten will move backwards at speed, while throwing a fruit forwards. There’s a version where it jumps back and grabs one fruit with both hands, chucks the fruit in front, then runs sideways.
  12. Spinning Charge: When Bishaten is doing a handstand, it’ll charge straight ahead and may follow up with another charge.
