Complete the Volt Forge sector in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Includes walkthrough for Sol Valley, Tower 1, and finding the Missile Expansion.
Walkthrough
- 1Head south from your starting position in Sol Valley towards the structure in the distance. Scan the birds flying above the structure for the Polaleisoarala scan.
- 2Approach the structure and scan the Lamorn Statue to the east of the entrance for lore information (not a Logbook entry).
- 3Enter the structure, which serves as the entrance to the Volt Forge. You will encounter Psy-bot Soldiers and Vi-O-La Spinners.
- 4Defeat the initial wave of Psy-bots by shooting them repeatedly from a distance. Aim for their heads for increased damage once you discover their weak point.
- 5After defeating the first six Psy-bots, head to the right of the main Volt Forge entrance (which is currently inaccessible) and ascend the steps.
- 6Enter the pneumatic maintenance tunnel and use a Bomb to activate it.
- 7In the next room, walk to the end and use a Missile on the weakened glass to shatter it.
- 8Hop over the shattered glass and enter the small tunnel with a mesh, which can be destroyed with a Missile or Bomb. Roll inside.
- 9Inside the Vi-O-La Tunnel, walk southwest until a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) triggers.
- 10Since the large door is impassable, hop to the area on the left and destroy the crates to reveal a small tunnel.
- 11Roll into this tunnel and drop down into an open area, getting your first view of Volt Forge.
- 12Check the crates in this area; the one in the east corner contains a MISSILE EXPANSION (3/48).
- 13Proceed to the next room, the Loading Airlock, scanning Denzards, Mecha Rats, and Spinners as you go. Mecha Rats may only appear after certain crates are destroyed.
- 14Enter the Showroom and scan the yellow part of the console near the viewport to reveal the area map and open a side door.
- 15Use the Save Station located in the room across from the console if needed.
- 16Proceed through the newly opened door to Tower 1: Elevator 1. Scan the console and enter the elevator.
- 17Exit the elevator and enter the Irradiation Floor. Hop into the shaft and fall to the bottom.
- 18On the right side, use your Control Beam to hit the marker, which temporarily raises platforms. You need to move to the opposite end of the arc, fire the Control Beam, and steer it to hit the marker, raising the platform you are on to reach the ledge. This may require multiple attempts.
- 19Once on the ledge, exit through the door.
- 20Enter Tower 1: Elevator 2, scan the console, ride down, and exit the room.
- 21In the Assembly Floor, turn left and use a Missile to blast the lock off the door.
- 22Proceed through the curved hallway and hop to the bottom floor. Avoid or destroy the Mecha Rats and proceed through the door.
- 23Enter Tower 1: Elevator 3. Be cautious of the intermittent electrical current on the wet floor. Ride down and exit.
- 24In the Manufacturing Floor, hop down to the lower floor, avoiding the Denzards. The door with a Missile Lock is a dead end for now. Roll into the small tunnel.
- 25Roll through Maintenance Shaft 1. In the side view area, use Bombs to clear the Denzards blocking your path.
- 26Reach the Tower 1 Generator. Place Bombs in the Bomb Slots on either side of the antenna, or throw them with the Psychic Glove. Falling here will result in a minor energy loss and respawn (be brought back to life at a checkpoint after death) nearby.
- 27Once both cables are bombed, the antenna will move, revealing a hole in the floor. Drop in as a ball and roll to the end.
- 28Roll to the back of the antenna and use a Bomb in the slot to start the generator. Avoid the robots for now and focus on the electrical current filling the passage back. The circular section is safe, but the straight passage is filled with electricity.
Tips
- Scan the birds flying above the structure in Sol Valley for the Polaleisoarala scan.

- The Missile Expansion in the Facility Approach is located in an open crate in the east corner.
- The Mecha Rats in the Loading Airlock may only appear after certain crates are destroyed.
- The Irradiation Floor requires precise use of the Control Beam to raise platforms.
- Be mindful of the electrical hazards in Tower 1: Elevator 3 and the passage back from the Tower 1 Generator.
- The door with a Missile Lock in the Manufacturing Floor is currently inaccessible.
