Master Part 38 of High on Life 2 with our detailed walkthrough. Learn strategies for defeating tanks, finding supplies, and navigating treacherous areas.
Walkthrough
- 1Proceed through a large pipe until you reach section c2a5b. A headcrab can be lured to leap to its death by strafing in and out of the pipe.
- 2At a path split in the pipes, turn right and drop into a watery alley.
- 3Run forward and jump-crouch into another pipe entrance. Turn right past it and go to the end.
- 4Climb a ladder just enough for a marine to see you, then quickly climb back down.
- 5Travel to the other end of the pipe. Use another ladder for a peekaboo routine to agitate nearby marines.
- 6Retreat to the corner near the first ladder and wait for the marines to destroy their own tank with grenades.
- 7Once explosions and chatter cease, ascend the first ladder to access the area behind the tank. Destroy the turret with the assault rifle if intact and eliminate any remaining marines.
- 8SRC: Marines typically need line-of-sight. Flank the tank, eliminate the marine on the left, and prepare for others to approach. Use AR grenades or rockets for this. If they stop, attempt to sneak-shoot them.
- 9Search for supplies behind the tank (ammo stash with rockets and C4, first aid stations in garage rooms) and in front of the tank near sandbag walls (assault rifle clips, AR grenades).
- 10Locate a small shed left of a large metal door containing a blinking red-and-green button. Use it to open the door.
- 11Quicksave before proceeding through the door and approaching the corner. A rocket-firing tank is ahead.
- 12Equip the Crossbow, enter zoom mode, and carefully round the corner towards crates.
- 13Slowly move towards the crates until you can see the top of the rocket tank's turret over a crate. Avoid being seen. If you fail, quickrestore and reposition.
- 14Fire six darts into the tank's turret to destroy it. SRC: It requires 12 darts; aim slightly above the turret.
- 15Alternative Strategy: Crouch-walk around the corner, staying crouched along the right wall, bashing crates. After the second crate, move to an explosive crate, stand, and run past it on its right. Turn left and run for the sandbag wall left of the tank. Crouch-walk between the tank and sandbag wall, waiting for the tank to self-destruct. Adjust position if rockets aren't damaging it, staying crouched and behind the wall.
- 16SRC: Squeezing between the tank and sandbag wall is difficult, but the tank won't fire at close range. Alternatively, stand next to the tank and bash its turret with the crowbar until it explodes. You may also shoot the turret with a pistol. Return to the first tank area to resupply bullets if needed.
- 17Bash non-explosive crates for supplies, including ten hand grenades.
- 18Approach the large hole in the wall near the tank. Toss five hand grenades into the lower area where marines are located.
- 19Jump-toss several snarks through the hole and wait.
- 20Jump through the hole, crouch-walk to the lower area with the assault rifle, and shoot any surviving marines.
- 21Gather supplies in the lower area, including five hand grenades.
- 22To exit the lower area, climb the sandy slope at the end. To return through the wall hole, run up the leaning wall piece and jump through.
- 23Squeeze between the right side of the tank and a sandbag wall (or jump-crouch onto the wall) to reach a large metal door that opens as you approach.
- 24Proceed through the door and wait for it to close to reach section c2a5c.
- 25In section c2a5c, wait for the second metal door to open. Move forward and against the left wall.
- 26Look right for a vortigaunt to appear and shoot it in the head.
- 27For the alien grunt on the left, quicksave, then toss a hand grenade to its location without being seen.
Tips
- Luring the headcrab into the pipe is an effective way to eliminate it without direct confrontation.
- Using the environment to make marines destroy their own tank saves ammunition and reduces risk.
- When facing the rocket tank, stealth and precise aiming are crucial. The crossbow's zoom mode is invaluable.
- The alternative strategy to make the rocket tank self-destruct is risky but can be effective if executed correctly.
- Using grenades and snarks before entering the lower area with marines significantly weakens them.
- Conserve ammunition by using the environment and stealth whenever possible.
