Part 11

Navigate Part 11 of Half-Life 2, covering the transition to Black Mesa East and the initial stages of Ravenholm. Learn how to use Dog's Ball (DB) effectively.

Walkthrough:

1. When you reach the ramp, turn left onto the lower concrete section. Back the boat up to the railing near the CR (Control Room) and climb onto it. Drive off the ledge, reposition in line with the debris ramp and flood gate, then proceed.
2. If you encounter difficulty with the boat maneuver, drive to the overhead gate control station and climb it. Open the gate, enter the new area, and use the busted dock as a ramp to the area above. Approach the concrete platforms carefully to avoid bouncing off. Continue past and around the building, drive over the bridge, and park near where the G-Man was. Exit the boat, locate the flood gate CR, and open it. Return to the boat, drive off the concrete, and use the debris ramp to jump the gate. You will then enter the chapter Black Mesa East.
3. If you need to stop at the building for health and supplies, clear the two POS (possible enemies) outside with the boat's MGT (mounted gun). Inside, headshot the first POS from a crouch on the right side of the EP (entrance point) for cover from the second POS. Edge around the EP until you have Line of Fire (LOF) on the second POS and eliminate them. Load up, exit, drive over the bridge, locate the flood gate control, and open the gate. Return to the boat and use the debris ramp to jump the gate, entering Black Mesa East.
4. Locate the dock, ladder, and entrance to the Black Mesa East facility. Black Mesa East is a linear area that allows you to acquire Dog's Ball (DB), an invaluable asset for Ravenholm. Once outside and with DB, adjust crates to climb to a larger area. Alyx will follow. Head back to the yard EP when Alyx tells Dog to find something larger to toss at Gordon. If you cannot enter the fenced yard with the airlock, wait for explosions to open the gate and airlock.
5. After the attack on Black Mesa East, Dog leads you to its entrance to Ravenholm. A short distance from the overhead door, you'll find a locked ladder. Use GGP+ (presumably a command or action) with DB to climb it. A simple way to climb a ladder with DB is to stand at the base, push into the ladder, turn Gordon left or right, look up, and hold forward. DB will be to the side, allowing a smooth climb.
