Walkthrough
- 1After a train arrives and guards are dispatched, loot the nearby guard for a Potion.
- 2Head towards the further guard and defeat the two MPs attacking you using the "Attack" option.
- 3Loot the second guard for another Potion.
- 4Head up the stairs to the left of the guard.
- 5After the first battle, head up to where your allies (Biggs, Wedge, Jessie) are gathered.
- 6You will have a chance to name your character (default: Cloud).
- 7Barret will appear and give orders. You will have a chance to name him (default: Barret).
- 8Follow the path through a checkpoint and a doorway to reach the reactor.
- 9Head up ramps and stairs to find the reactor interior.
- 10Reunite with Barret, Biggs, and Jessie. Barret will join your party.
- 11Talk to Biggs to open a doorway, then talk to Jessie to open the next.
- 12Before following Jessie, go to the bottom-right room to find a chest with a Phoenix Down.
- 13Return to Jessie, follow her into an elevator, and press the button she indicates.
- 14Exit the elevator and head down steel stairs to the ground floor.
- 15Go through a door across from the stairs, jump a gap, and talk to Jessie for a tutorial on climbing ladders.
- 16Follow the scaffolding, bypass a ladder (functions as a ramp), and claim a Potion.
- 17Descend the ladder/ramp, climb another ladder, and follow a pipe.
- 18Cross more pipes and descend another ladder to a walkway.
- 19Use the nearby save point.
- 20Proceed along the ramp to the reactor core.
- 21Investigate the glowing green sphere on the ground to obtain Restore Materia (cannot be equipped yet).
- 22Continue to the reactor core. Barret will give instructions, and Cloud will set the bomb.
- 23The Guard Scorpion boss will appear.
Tips
- Combat Tip: Rows: You can switch characters by pressing [Triangle]. Barret has a long-range weapon, allowing him to attack from the back row without damage reduction and take less melee damage. Cloud does not have a long-range weapon and deals less damage from afar. You can switch rows via the menu's "Order" option. Spells are considered long-range. While taking less damage is beneficial, it slows Limit Bar charge.
Boss Battle: Guard Scorpion
