Walkthrough

    Head to North Corel and speak to the townsfolk about Shinra's plans.

    Exit town to the north, cross the Bomb-covered bridge, and follow the tracks to the reactor.

    Defeat the two Attack Squad soldiers to hijack a train.
  4. 4
    You have 10 minutes to catch the first train carrying the Huge Materia. Press [Up] + [Triangle] ([MENU] on PC) to alternate levers and catch it within 30 seconds.

    On the other train, defeat the Shinra troops in each car:
    • Cars 1 & 2: Defeat Gas Ducters.

    Car 3: Fight and defeat Wolfmeister using "Lasers" and melee attacks, or "Aqualung".

    Car 4: Fight and defeat Eagle Gun. Steal the Warrior Bangle first, then use "Lasers" and "Trine".

    Car 5: Defeat the lone Attack Squad soldier.

    After defeating the guards, slow the train down by alternating [Up] + [Triangle] and [Down] + [X] ([Up] + [MENU] and [Down] + [CANCEL] on PC).

    If successful, the train stops before hitting North Corel. You receive the Huge Materia and Ultima Materia.

    Rest at the inn. On your way out, visit the house below the inn and speak to the lady to receive "Catastrophe", Barret's ultimate Limit Break.

    Travel to Fort Condor. Intentionally lose the battle by not deploying any troops.

    Defeat the beast CMD. Grand Horn. You can steal an Imperial Guard armor piece from it.

    After the battle, search the top of the reactor for Phoenix Materia near the hatched condor egg.

    Return to the defender to report.
Tips
  • Save your game before entering North Corel, as under-performing can have lasting consequences.
  • "Aqualung" is effective against Wolfmeister.
  • The Warrior Bangle can be stolen from the Eagle Gun.
  • If you have Mug, you can damage the Eagle Gun while stealing the Warrior Bangle.
  • "Trine" is effective against the Eagle Gun.
  • Stopping the train is crucial; if you fail, reload your save.
  • Imperial Guard armor is defensively superior to the Crystal Bangle and has the same Materia socket types.
