    In Jidoor, restock items. The Crystal Sword and Partisan are inferior to the Falchion. The Man-Eater is an okay knife. The Hero’s Ring (50,000 Gil), Excalipoor (500,000 Gil), and Zephyr Cloak (10,000 Gil) are available at the auction house, though the latter two are not recommended. Enter the mansion on the north side of town.

    Inside Owzer's Mansion, go north to a westbound staircase. Examine the light at the bottom to go upstairs.

    Examine the southwestern picture of the lady to fight enemies. A doorway will appear.

    Examine the painting of Emperor Gestahl twice to obtain the Emperor’s Letter.

    Continue to the basement. Go south and west.

    Go west and north. Go through the western door and open the chest for a Moogle Suit.

Chadarnook Boss Fight:

  • Lakshmi Form: Uses basic attack, Last Kiss (Doom), Lullaby (Sleep), Entice, and Poltergeist (Super-Sap). Ignore attacking this form as it regenerates HP. Focus on applying Protect, Shell, and Haste, and healing.
  • Chadarnook Form: Uses basic attack, Hit (damage and Doom), Thundara, Thundaga, and Flash Rain (Water/Ice damage). This is the form to attack.
  • Recommended Strategy: Use Kirin for Regen, Fenrir for dodging, and Siren to stop magic during the Lakshmi form. When Chadarnook appears, use Ifrit, Bahamut, or Phoenix. Celes and Terra should use Fira/Firaga, Sabin can use Rising Phoenix. Heal with Cura/Curaga as needed. Do NOT use Thunder-based attacks as Chadarnook absorbs them.
  • After defeating Chadarnook, you will receive the Lakshmi Magicite.
  • Relm will join your party.

  • The bestiary in Owzer's Mansion lists the following enemies: Blade Dancer (HP 2539), Caladrius (HP 885), Coeurl Cat (HP 1115), Crusher (HP 2095), Misty (HP 3580), Rafflesia (HP 2200), and Still Life (HP 4889).
  • Do not waste MP on the Lakshmi form of Chadarnook.
  • Avoid using Thunder magic against Chadarnook.
