Fiend

Learn how to defeat the Fiend in Final Fantasy VI. Get tips on its attacks, weaknesses, and the best strategies to use in this tough boss fight.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Attacks: Basic Attack, Fiendish Rage (4x power), Blizzaga, Northern Cross, Absolute Zero, Force Field (nullifies random element - good for Strago's Lore), Reverse Polarity, Targeting (shows who Fiendish Rage will hit).
• HP: Significant.
• Key Mechanic: Fiend's aura shakes near the end of the fight; Dispel this immediately.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Fiend uses its standard attacks. Apply Slow to the enemy.
2. Phase 2: Fiend's aura begins to shake. This is your cue to use Dispel.

Strategy:

• Start the fight by casting Slow on Fiend.
• Buff yourself with Hastega and Mighty Guard for better offense and defense.
• For offense, powerful spells like Lv. ? Holy, Holy, Flare, Meteor, or Ultima are your best bet.
• Summons like Golem, Alexander, and Bahamut can also be helpful.
• Crucially: When you see the message about Fiend’s aura shaking, immediately cast Dispel. If you don't, Fiend will unleash devastating attacks.
• Fiend has a lot of HP, so be prepared for a prolonged battle. Keep your party healed and don't let up the pressure.
