Your guide to Nikeah in Final Fantasy VI! Stock up on gear, grab the Enhancer for Celes, and uncover the mystery of the man claiming to be Gerad.

Alright, we've finally hit Nikeah, and it's time for some much-needed shopping! The armor shop here has some pretty decent gear. I highly recommend grabbing some Diamond gear for your party if you can afford it. More importantly, make sure you buy the Enhancer sword for Celes. Seriously, this thing is a game-changer for her, boosting both her physical and magical attack power way beyond what you likely have right now. That's the main shopping priority here.

Don't forget to stock up on your basic supplies too, and if you're feeling beat up, rest at the Inn. Once you're all set, head over to the Pub, which is right near the shopping area. You'll find a thief chilling at a table. Chat with him, and he'll eventually get up and leave. Follow him outside, and then head north. You're looking for King Edgar!

When you speak with him, he'll do something really strange: he'll claim his name is Gerad and that he's never heard of an Edgar. Weird, right? He looks like Edgar, sounds like Edgar, and it's hard to imagine he wouldn't know King Edgar given his connection to the Figaro thieves. His claim of ignorance is almost certainly a lie, especially since "Gerad" is just an anagram of "Edgar." The only real clue that this might be more than a simple disguise is that Celes seems to be the only one who really reacts to this Gerad character, not Sabin, Edgar's own twin brother.

Whatever the case, just go with it for now. Follow him for a bit, and you'll eventually reach the harbor. From there, you'll sneak onto a boat with the Crimson Robbers, and eventually, you'll make landfall in South Figaro.
