Figaro Castle: Trapped Underground

Alright, so you've found yourself in a bit of a pickle deep within Figaro Castle, huh? Don't worry, this part can be a little tricky, but we'll get you through it. You're facing off against four nasty Tentacles, and they've got a few tricks up their sleeves.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Each Tentacle has the same moveset.
• Attacks include: Basic attack, Stun (can inflict Slow), Bio, Poison, Entwine (party-wide Stun), and Grab (drains HP and incapacitates a character until released).
• Fira, Chainsaw, Razor Gale, and Rising Phoenix are powerful against them.

Strategy:

• Opening Moves: It's a good idea to start this battle by summoning Kirin for Regen, Fenrir for dodging, and Siren to nullify most magic spells.
• Damage Dealers: Set Edgar to use his Bioblaster for most of the fight. Once you're down to just one Tentacle, switch him to the Drill.
• Focus Fire: Have your other two characters concentrate their attacks on a single Tentacle. Celes can use a “-ra” spell (like Fira) and switch to multi-target spells if possible, especially if the other Tentacles have full HP or absorb that element. If Celes needs to, have her use Cura to heal.
• Sabin's Role: Sabin can either follow Celes's strategy or focus on using Blitzes.
• Dealing with Grab: If a Tentacle uses Grab on one of your characters, they'll be out of the fight temporarily, losing HP. You'll need to wait for them to be Released.
• Post-Battle: After you've dealt with the Tentacles, you'll need to dry off the slime.
• Looting: Head north into the treasure chamber. You'll find a suit of armor containing the Soul Sabre.
• Escape: Backtrack through the castle rooms until you find the old man who usually handles the underground travel. He'll let you know the engine's fixed, and you'll be heading back to the surface soon.
