Side Questing Finale
Conclude the Stellazzio and Mognet Central side quests in Final Fantasy IX. Get the Robe of Lords, Hammer, Ribbon, and more by following our walkthrough.
- 1The Final Stellazzios
- Board the Invincible airship and go to the bridge. Go south one room and find the chest containing the Pisces Stellazzio on the left.
- 2Travel to Treno and visit the Queen. Hand over the Pisces and Aquarius Stellazzios to receive 30,000 Gil and the Robe of Lords.
- 3Speak with the Queen again and tell her there is one more Stellazzio. She will return the ones you've gathered.
- 4Return to Quan's Dwelling and go to the spot where you found the Scorpio coin. In the exact same spot, you will find the Ophiuchus Stellazzio.
- 5Return the Ophiuchus Stellazzio to the Queen to receive the Hammer, completing this side quest.
- 6Mognet Central
- Head to Alexandria and go to the chapel. Speak with Stiltzkin and purchase his final item set for 5555 Gil, which includes a Moonstone, Ruby, and Elixir. If you have bought all previous sets and obtained all Moonstones, this will unlock two trophies/achievements.
- 7Speak with Stiltzkin again to receive a Ribbon as a bonus.
- 8Speak with Kupo (the male moogle on the left) in the chapel and choose the Mognet option.
- 9Exit the chapel and Kupo will ask you to deliver a letter to Atla in Burmecia.
- 10Travel to Burmecia and find Atla in the back of the city, near the end, in one of the two side rooms. Deliver the letter to Atla, who will give you a letter for Mogryo.
- 11Travel to Black Mage Village and find Mogryo near the Chocobo stable. Give him the letter, and he will give you a letter for Kumool.
- 12While in Black Mage Village, check the shops. The equipment shop has new items, including the Thief Hat for Zidane. The Black Cat Synthesis Shop has new items like the Masamune for Zidane, Duel Claws for Amarant, Bracer, Golden Skullcap, Grand Helm, Brave Suit, and Grand Armor. You can also synthesize gems here.
- 13Travel to Ipsen's Castle and find Kumool in the second room. Hand over the letter to receive a letter addressed to Mois.
- 14Fly to the Qu’s Marsh side of Fossil Roo. Ensure Quina is in your party. Go to Quale's house north of the frog pond, then exit east. Take the eastern path in the weeds to reach the entrance of Fossil Roo.
- 15Hand over the letter to Mois to receive another letter, this one for Noggy.
- 16Travel to Daguerreo. Find Noggy on the second level, to the right from the entrance hall. Receive a letter for Kupo from Noggy.
- 17While in Daguerreo, check the weapon/synthesis shops. On the second level, exit left from where you found Noggy. Find the old man on the left side of this room and speak with him. He will ask you to find a Magical Fingertip.
- 18Leave Daguerreo and fly back to Alexandria. Return to the chapel and deliver the letter to Kupo.
Memoria (1)
Navigate the final dungeon, Memoria, in Final Fantasy IX. This guide covers the Nova Dragon and Maliris boss fights, plus finding key items like Kain's Lance and The Tower.
- 1Nova Dragon Boss Fight: This boss is quick and deals significant damage. Equip Ribbons to absorb its wind and water-based attacks. Other attacks include Death (instant KO), Shockwave (party damage), and Psychokinesis (single target). It may counter physical attacks.
- 2Memoria Entrance: After defeating Nova Dragon, enter Memoria. You can return to the Invincible from the start. A save/tent spot is available on the left after heading up the stairs.
- 3Kain's Lance: Hug the right wall while moving north to find Kain's Lance, Freya's ultimate weapon. It inflicts Confuse with Add Status but is weaker than Dragon's Hair.
- 4Memoria Enemies: Be aware of Iron Man (Helm Divide, Might, Protect, Cleave), Chimera (counters with Venom Breath, Cold Breath, Virus Crunch), Ash (Reflect, Stop, Doom, Death, Snowstorm), Behemoth (counters with Meteor), and Stilva (strong fire skills).
- 5Master Phantom: In the room with a large set of stairs after retrieving Kain's Lance, talk to an invisible NPC in the bottom left corner to challenge a Master Phantom to Tetra Master for rare cards.
- 6The Tower: Climb the stairs and reach the top of the next room. On a small overhang, find The Tower, a weapon for Zidane, in the bottom right corner.
- 7Maliris Boss Fight Preparation: Before proceeding on the long path, prepare for Maliris. Fire-elemental gear and Body Temp are recommended to prevent the Heat ailment.
- 8Maliris Boss Fight: Maliris uses fire attacks and physical strikes, along with the Heat ailment (instant KO if active when taking an action). Other attacks include Sword Quiver, Firaga, and Flame Slash. High defense and fire protection are advised.
- Equip Ribbons for the Nova Dragon fight to negate wind and water attacks.
- If Ribbons are unavailable, use equipment that reduces wind/water damage.
- Nova Dragon is susceptible to Sleep, Darkness, and Slow, and weak to Ice and Wind.
- For Nova Dragon's rare steal items (Remedy, Dragon Wrist, Grand Armor), equip Master Thief and Bandit on Zidane.
- For the Maliris fight, ensure high physical and magic defense, and equip fire-resistant gear.
- Body Temp is crucial to prevent the Heat ailment from Maliris.
- Kain's Lance (Freya's ultimate weapon)
- The Tower (Zidane's weapon)
- Rare cards from Master Phantoms
- Stealable items from Nova Dragon (Remedy, Dragon Wrist, Grand Armor)
