    Upon entering the Iifa Tree, a scene will play. You will receive a Ruby, which teaches Eiko the Carbuncle Eidolon.

    Follow the paths until you find the moogle Mocchi. Deliver Mogryo's letter, heal, and save your game.

    Proceed past Mocchi to an elevator-like device. Choose to step on it to enter the dungeon.

Stats / Weaknesses:

  • Can inflict Heat ailment with Mustard Bomb, causing instant KO if an action is taken.

Strategy:

  • Normal Fight: Vivi can use Bio. Dagger and Eiko can use eidolons and heal. Zidane should focus on stealing.
  • Resisting Heat: Equip 'Body Temp'. If afflicted, cure with Blizzard or let it wear off. Do NOT take any actions while Heat is active.
  • Countering Fire Spells: If Soulcage uses Fire Blades after being hit with fire, counter with Blizzard/Blizzara to extinguish the flames.
  • Stealing: Zidane can steal an Oak Staff, Magician Cloak, and a Brigandine.
  • Quick Kill: As Soulcage is undead, use Life, an Elixir, or a Phoenix Down (reduces HP to single digits) for an instant or near-instant kill.

After the fight, the mist clears, and the party plans to return to Madain Sari.
