Optional Boss - Tantarian: Tantarian hides within a book. To force it out, inflict damage until the page number reaches between 150 and 200. While hiding, it uses Paper Storm, Edge, and Doom. Once revealed, do not physically attack it; instead, Zidane should steal items like Ether, Elixir, Silver Fork, and Demon's Mail. Vivi should use Fira, and Steiner should use Fire Sword. Tantarian will retreat after a few rounds, and the page counter resets. The boss drops Running Shoes, which teaches Auto-Haste.

Rescuing the Princess: After defeating Tantarian, return to the main hall, go upstairs, and through the double doors opposite the balcony. Proceed to the Queen's chambers, find a secret passage behind the candle on the left of the fireplace. Navigate the rotating platform, collecting a Tent and Ice Brand from chests to the north. Continue to the north end doors to find Dagger, Zorn, and Thorn.

Boss - Zorn and Thorn: This fight is complicated by a timer. Zorn and Thorn attack only after one charges the other with magic. Attack the charging enemy to dissipate the charge and prevent damage. Zidane should steal from Zorn (Partisan, Stardust Rod). Thorn has Mythril Armor and Mythril Armlet. Keep someone's ATB charged to strike when needed. The battle ends when one is defeated.

After Zorn and Thorn: Approach Dagger on the altar to stop the timer. An ATE called 'Friendship' will occur. You will return to the Queen's chambers. A moogle is present; use this opportunity to rest, save, and check Mognet. Put all characters in the back row before proceeding.

Boss - Beatrix: This is an unwinnable battle. Have everyone in the back row to mitigate damage. Zidane should focus on stealing Phoenix Down, Ice Brand, and Survival Vest. Vivi should cast Slow on Beatrix. Beatrix will end the battle by reducing the party's HP to 1.

After Beatrix: Freya and Beatrix team up against a Bandersnatch. One attack from each will defeat it.
