Navigate Alexandria in Final Fantasy IX with this comprehensive guide. Master the jump rope mini-game, complete side quests for valuable Tetra Master cards, and uncover hidden items.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Jump Rope Mini-Game: Speak to the girl in the middle southwest of the Phoenix Pinion. Press the button when Vivi has an exclamation point. Thresholds are at 20, 50, 100, 200, and 300 jumps. The 200-300 jump range may require double-tapping. From 300 onwards, the rhythm returns to normal.
  2. 2
Input Lag: In enhanced ports, input lag requires pressing the button earlier. Focus on the exclamation point or the sound of Vivi landing. The jump rope location may change as the story progresses.
  3. 3
Side Quest - Lost Kitten: Head left from the jump-roping girls, down the alley. Decline the Rat Kid's offer to become his slave for now. Continue south to a steeple and docks. Go to the docks, then northwest to find Tom, who lost his kitten Mittens.
  4. 4
Finding Mittens: Backtrack to where you first gained control, head to the square south of there, and interact with the walking cat.
  5. 5
Return to Tom: Bring the cat back to Tom at the docks. He will reward you with a Bomb Card.
  6. 6
Steeple Items: Enter the building next to the steeple. On the left corner, find Eye Drops. Enter the steeple itself, find a Tent left of the entrance, and a Potion on the right.
  7. 7
Hippaul's Treasure: Climb the ladder in the steeple. At the top, pull the rope to ring the bell. This will drop Hippaul's treasure: an Ironite Card, Goblin Card, and Fang Card.
  8. 8
Rat Kid's Offer: Return to the alley where you met the Rat Kid and exit north, then re-enter to make him appear again. Agree to become his slave this time.
  9. 9
Alleyway Jack: After the Rat Kid runs off, stay in the alley. A red-haired NPC (Alleyway Jack) will approach. If you don't move, he will steal Gil. Speak to him to learn about Tetra Master. He will lead you to a bar for a tutorial.
  10. 10
Tetra Master Tutorial: Challenge NPCs with a card icon to play Tetra Master. Battles occur on a 4x4 grid, some spaces may be blocked. You can play up to five cards. Cards have arrows indicating attack direction. If a card's arrow faces an opposing arrow, a battle ensues. Winning captures the opponent's card. Capturing all cards results in a Perfect and taking all of the opponent's cards. More details are in the Tetra Master section of the guide.
