    After the introduction, proceed to the next area. A locked door can be opened with a lever to its right.

    In the next screen, find a chest containing a Phoenix Down on the right.

    Continue to the next screen with a tree in the middle. A chest with Magician Shoes is to the south. Another chest containing an Ice Staff is hidden behind the tree near the top.

    Exit to the right, go up past the vines, and enter the next exit.

    In the small room, find a chest with an Ether and a small hole. Interact with the hole to make sand pour out.

    Climb the nearby vines and enter the hole to return to the previous room, now filled with sand. Look for the opening on the left.

    To get the chests containing a Hi-Potion and 900 Gil, carefully tap the action button when caught in a whirlpool to control Zidane's jump direction.

Tips
  • When fighting Sand Golems, focus attacks on the Core to defeat them, as attacking the main body will cause it to counter and then be revived.
  • The Dragonfly has Matra Magic (reduces enemy HP to 1) and the Carrion Worm has Auto-Life (revives KO'ed allies with 1 HP). Learn these Blue Magics if possible.
  • Be cautious in the whirlpool room; getting caught can be disorienting.
  • The Zuu is a good target for Quina to learn White Wind, a useful healing Blue Magic.
