Complete Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Part 48 walkthrough, including how to defeat the Cave Worm boss and find all treasure chests.
Walkthrough
- 1Locate and hit two purple switches simultaneously to open a gate. In multiplayer mode, three switches must be hit. Use focus attacks (a special charged attack) to hit multiple switches at once.
- 2Proceed through the opened gate and defeat the enemies.
- 3Go west and defeat the Blazer Beetle.
- 4Go north and climb the stairs on your left.
- 5Open the chest.
- 6Continue north, following the path.
- 7Use the focus attack technique when you reach the purple switches again to open the gate.
- 8Head through the gate, defeating enemies as you go.
- 9Kill the two Blazer Beetles near the end and enter the next area.
- 10Go north. At a split, head left.
- 11Continue going left and then north for a significant distance. Defeat all encountered enemies to avoid being trapped.
- 12When you can no longer go north, head east to find a treasure chest. Open it.
- 13Backtrack to the split where you took the left path.
- 14Take the right path and head east until you find a treasure chest.
- 15Backtrack slightly and then head south to enter the next area.
- 16Head south, defeating enemies, and continue past the area with the elevator.
- 17Go east, then south when possible, and climb the stairs.
- 18Defeat the enemies and open the two treasure chests.
- 19Go back down the stairs.
- 20To your right is an elevator. Have both you and Mog (an NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) companion) climb on; it will lower.
- 21Go north and defeat the Gigas.
- 22Climb the small slope on your left to reach a treasure chest.
- 23Return to the elevator and head up to the upper floor.
- 24Go north, then east to find another elevator. Ride it down.
- 25Go north, then west. Defeat the Lizard Captain and Lizardman.
- 26Open the treasure chest for an artifact.
- 27Return to the elevator and take it up to the upper floor.
- 28Head east for a long distance, then north, and then east again to find the third and final elevator. Take it down.
- 29Go north, defeat the enemies, and open the chest.
- 30Take the elevator back up.
- 31Return to the first elevator and take it down. Head south, then east until you enter the next area.
- 32Go north, being wary of blue holes.
- 33Go north and east, then climb the small stairs.
- 34Go north, fighting Sahagins, and climb the next small set of stairs.
- 35Go north, taking the only available path.
- 36Continue north, hugging the right wall.
- 37Continue hugging the wall as it turns east, leading to a closed area with a treasure chest and enemies. Open the chest.
- 38Go down, hugging the left wall.
- 39You will reach purple switches. Hit them to open the gate.
- 40Check your health and proceed through the gate to face the Cave Worm.
BOSS: Cave Worm
Walkthrough
- 1The Cave Worm is a difficult boss with attacks that can deplete three or four hearts at once. Electric jellyfish also appear in the arena.
- 2The Cave Worm's attacks are limited in range, allowing you to heal safely at the back of the arena, but avoiding attacks is difficult.
- 3Sand Spray Attack: The most common attack. The Cave Worm sprays sand, dealing about three hearts of damage. Get to the side to avoid it when the flaps in front of its mouth move.
- 4Inhaling Attack: This attack does not cause damage. You will be sucked forward. Rush toward the Cave Worm when it inhales, charge a focus attack, and slash.
- 5Swipe Attack: Occurs when you get too close. It swipes at you, taking away three hearts.
- 6Bubble Attack: The Cave Worm shoots a huge blue bubble that casts Slow if it hits you. This happens quickly, so keep moving. The flaps in front of its mouth disappear before this attack.
- 7Ground Slam Attack: Occurs when the Cave Worm's HP is low. It jumps up and slams down, releasing a shockwave that deals about five hearts of damage if you are hit.
- 8Resistances: The Cave Worm resists Blizzard, Slow, and Stop. Fire, Thunder, and Gravity spells do not do much damage. Holy magic does the most magic damage but is not very effective. Magic is not recommended.
- 9Strategy: Use Focus Attacks non-stop. Keep charging and performing Focus Attacks to deplete the Cave Worm's health. Retreat to cure yourself when low on hearts.
- 10Whenever Electric Jellyfish appear, kill them immediately to avoid dealing with them and the Cave Worm simultaneously. Note that using your main weapon on the jellyfish will cause you to lose HP.
CYCLES TWO AND THREE
Walkthrough
- 1On the second cycle, the Cave Worm gains points in attack and defense, dealing more damage and taking longer to kill.
- 2On the third cycle, its attack and defense increase further. Ensure you have high health and a strong weapon.
Tips
- Focus attacks are crucial for dealing damage to the Cave Worm and hitting multiple switches simultaneously.
- Always be aware of your surroundings and the minimap (a small map usually displayed on the HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap), showing your immediate surroundings and nearby objectives) to navigate effectively.
- Prioritize healing when your health is low, especially during the Cave Worm fight.
- The electric jellyfish are a nuisance; eliminate them quickly if they appear during the Cave Worm battle.
- For the Cave Worm's sand spray attack, positioning yourself to the side is key to avoidance.
- Be prepared for increased difficulty in Cycles Two and Three, as the Cave Worm becomes stronger.
