Walkthrough
  1. 1
Enter the Temple of Trials. Enemies include giant ants (6 HP) and radscorpions (10 HP). It's not necessary to kill all enemies.
  2. 2
In the foyer, proceed north to a locked door to avoid more ants. Alternatively, explore passages to the right for more ants and a healing powder, or to the left for scorpions (no items). The second passage to the right has three scorpions; in a room there, examine bones to find a spear. Use lockpick skill on the locked door at the end of the first level.
  3. 3
In the second level (hallway), avoid spear traps from raised plates. A room to the right contains two scorpions and a chest with healing powder. West of the chasm, kill 2-3 ants to get plastic explosives. Past the chasm to the right, kill two giant ants to find an antidote in a chest. Use plastic explosives on the metal door at the end of the hallway to proceed.
  4. 4
In the final level, clear the first room of ants and head east to kill more critters. The easternmost room has healing powder. Go west, then north to a room with a firepit.
  5. 5
Talk to Cameron. You can convince him not to fight if you have high speech. Otherwise, you must fight him. This is not a fight to the death. All your items are in a chest in the starting room of the final level, and you cannot use weapons or healing items during the fight.
  6. 6
After convincing or defeating Cameron, retrieve your items and open the door. A video shows you getting the Vault Suit. You'll be transported to Arroyo village and receive experience.
  7. 7
Go to the Elder's tent (next to you). Talk to the Elder, accept the quest to find Vic and the G.E.C.K. You'll receive money and a water flask. Open the chest behind the Elder for a knife and healing powder.
  8. 8
Go north to Hakunin's tent. Offer to weed his garden (to the left). Kill spore plants for experience. Return to Hakunin for healing powders. He will make healing powder for you if you provide a Broc Flower and Xander Root. You'll get more experience.
  9. 9
Go east to talk to your cousin Nagor, who lost his dog, Smoke. Offer to find Smoke.
  10. 10
Go south to the head monument and talk to Lucas. Ask him to teach you unarmed skill if possible.
  11. 11
Go west and repair the damaged well for experience.
  12. 12
Find Jordan in a tent to the east to increase your melee weapons skill.
  13. 13
Head west into the wilderness to find Smoke. Return Smoke to Nagor for experience.
  14. 14
Go south to the great bridge. Talk to the bridge guard about his spear. He'll direct you to Aunt Morlis in the village for flint.
  15. 15
Find Aunt Morlis in the southwestern area of the village. Ask for flint, mentioning your dangerous journey, or offer three healing powders.
  16. 16
Return to the bridge guard with flint and have him sharpen it.
  17. 17
Leave Arroyo south, or head to Klamath if you want to avoid special armor.
