Guide to The Temple of Avo in Fable: learn how to donate gold for age reduction, the Paladin title, and the Sentinus weapon. Plus, find a mercenary and a Resurrection Phial!
Alright, so you're heading towards Knothole Glade, and the path takes you right through the Temple of Avo. Don't expect any fights here – it's more of a spiritual pit stop! This place is all about showing some love (and gold) to Avo, the god of good in Albion.
Donating to Avo:
When you enter the Temple, you'll have the opportunity to donate gold. The more you give, the better the rewards:
- Around 48,000 Gold: You'll shave 5-10 years off your character's age. Every little bit helps you stay young and spry!
- Up to 64,000 Gold: You'll be granted the prestigious Paladin title. It's a nice way to show off your devotion.
- Around 32,000 Gold (all at once): This is how you get the Sentinus, a really powerful weapon. Make sure you have a good chunk of change ready to go when you decide to donate this amount in a single sitting.
You can make these donations over time, but remember that the Sentinus requires a large sum to be donated all at once. So, start saving up!
Outside the Temple:
Before you head into the Temple, take a look around outside. You'll find:
- A Mercenary: There's a mercenary for hire just outside. He'll cost you 30 Gold upfront, plus 20 Gold for every hour he works for you. Handy if you need some backup later!
- A Chest: Right behind the mercenary, there's a chest containing a Resurrection Phial. Grab it – you never know when you might need an extra life!
Huw's Sword (The Harbinger):
If you look up on the hill above the Temple, you'll see a group of villagers struggling to pull a sword out of a stone. This is the Harbinger, or as they call it, Huw's Sword. Getting this sword is a bit of a Strength check.
- First Try: If your Strength stats are maxed out when you first attempt this, you'll be able to pull it out right away.
- Subsequent Tries: If you don't have maxed Strength the first time, the game remembers your stats. To pull it out later, you'll need to have improved your Physique by 5 points, your Toughness by 3 points, and your Health by 2 points since that first attempt. Keep an eye on your stats and plan accordingly if you want this powerful weapon!
