Oakvale

After the intro, speak with your father in Oakvale to receive the objective to buy a birthday gift for your sister, Theresa.

The only available gift is a box of Chocolates, costing 3 Gold, from a local trader outside the tavern.

Your father will give you 1 Gold for each good deed you perform to help you earn the necessary funds.

There are four opportunities for deeds in Oakvale. Guards will be aware of evil deeds immediately.

Guarding the Farmer's Stock: In southwest Oakvale, agree to watch a farmer's barrels while he uses the restroom.

Good: Stand near the crates and ignore a child attempting to get you to break the barrels.

Evil: Punch the child, then smash the barrels yourself to find 1 Gold and two Giant Beetles.

Extramarital Affairs: In the far east of Oakvale, approach a man cheating behind his house. He will attempt to bribe you into silence.

Good: Refuse the bribe and find his wife in the central part of town to inform her.

Evil: Take the bribe and keep quiet, or take the bribe and then inform his wife for both Good and Evil points.

Run-In with a Bully: In the far west of town, two boys are present. One holds a Teddy Bear, and the other is bullying him for it.

Good: Scare off the bully by attacking him to receive the Teddy Bear.

Evil: Beat the boy to take the bear, then beat the bully.

Rosie Reunion: The Teddy Bear is named Rosie and belongs to a little girl near the farmer in the southwest. Rosie needs her stuffing changed.

Good: Return the bear to the little girl.

Evil: Give the bear to the bully.

After each good deed, return to your father to receive 1 Gold.

Once you have saved 3 Gold, purchase the Chocolates from the trader.

Find your sister, Theresa, north of town and give her the gift.

Watch the ensuing (cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically)) where bandits attack, burning Oakvale, killing your father, and abducting your mother.

Return to your burning home to meet Maze, who will escort you to the Heroes' Guild.
