Walkthrough

Return to Witchwood Lake and take the north path to the Arena Entrance.

At the Arena Entrance, you can purchase new titles from a vendor.

Continue to the Arena Waiting Area, where a vendor sells items and armor. You can shoplift here, but be prepared to restart if caught.

Enter the Arena competition, which consists of eight levels. Completing it without breaks yields 28600 Gold.

Beware of the blades surrounding the ring; they damage both you and enemies.

Round 1: Defeat Wasps.

Round 2: Defeat Hobbes, avoiding being surrounded.

Round 3: Fight White & Brown Balverines; Silver-Augmented weapons and the Slow Time spell are helpful.

Round 4: Fight Undead; Fire-Augmented weapons or ranged attacks are effective.

Round 5: Fight Bandits; use strong melee attacks for normal bandits and Will/ranged attacks for those in black clothes.

Round 6: Fight Earth Trolls using ranged attacks.

Round 7: Fight Rock Trolls with ranged attacks or a Slow Time spell and melee weapon.

Round 8: Fight the boss, Arachanox. Keep distance initially, then charge and slash its eye when it prepares to attack. Defeat the smaller scorpions it summons, then use Heal or potions.

Final Round: Fight Whisper. She blocks most attacks, so dodge and use melee.

After defeating Whisper, you can choose to let her live or kill her. Killing her grants 10000 Gold from Jack of Blades, in addition to the normal rewards.

No Protection: Fight naked. Wager: 500 Gold, Reward: 4000 Gold.
Without A Scratch: Take no damage. Wager: 400 Gold, Reward: 10000 Gold.
No Mercy: Kill all opponents. Wager: 1000 Gold, Reward: 2000 Gold.
Merciful Hero: Show mercy to foes when possible. Wager: 1000 Gold, Reward: 2000 Gold.

The Thunder Hero Doll and the entire Bright Plate Mail set can be purchased from the Arena Waiting Area vendor.
Showing off to the crowd can increase your loot from the Arena.
Use the blades surrounding the Arena ring to your advantage by luring enemies into them.
A good level of the Slow Time (a spell that slows down time) spell can make fighting Balverines and Rock Trolls easier.
Fire-Augmented weapons are effective against the Undead.
Ranged attacks are useful against Earth Trolls and some Bandits.
For Arachanox, focus melee attacks on its eye when it charges up energy.
Whisper's attacks are blocked by ranged attacks; use melee instead.
