How to Get Saffron in Enshrouded

Discover the best locations to farm Saffron in Enshrouded's Kindlewaste Biome. Learn how to craft Saffron Seeds and its essential uses for Flame Altar upgrades, Spice, and Yellow Fabric.

Saffron is a valuable resource in Enshrouded, primarily found in the Kindlewaste Biome. While it appears frequently, specific farming spots can yield large quantities.

Best Farming Location:

The most efficient area to farm Saffron is south of the Kindlewastes. Follow the overland routes of the Highlands towards the Sunsimmer Souterrain farming settlement POIs. Explore the deserts to the north and east of this settlement, where you can find patches of 7-12 Saffron Nodes. Continue following the desert westward towards the Fossilized Bone deposits, directly west of the Kindlewaste Ancient Tower. This long stretch of land should yield a significant amount of Saffron.

Alternatively, you can fly west from the Kindle Tower fast travel hotspot to access similar farming areas.

Farming Saffron Seeds:

If you wish to cultivate Saffron, you can plant Saffron Seeds in Farm beds and Soil. To craft Saffron Seeds:

1. Craft a Seedbed from the Farmer NPC.
2. Use 1 Water, 1 Saffron, and 1 Fertilized Farm Soil.

To craft Fertilized Farm Soil, you will need the following materials unlocked from the Farmer:

• 10 Sand
• 2 Fossilized Bone Dust
• 3 Nitrate

These materials are used to craft 15 Fertilized Farm Soil. Nitrate can be found randomly in Kindlewaste lootables or crafted at the Laboratory.

Uses for Saffron:

• Flame Altar Upgrade: Saffron is crucial for upgrading your Flame Altar to level 6, the highest level in early access.
• Spice Crafting: At the Laboratory, Saffron can be used to create Spice. Spice is essential for crafting high-quality materials like bandages, explosives, and various cooking recipes.
• Yellow Fabric: Craft Yellow Fabric from the Hunter NPC using Saffron. This fabric is a required component for the Warlock armor set, an end-game armor set for wand builds.
• Decorative Hangings: For builders, Saffron is used as ink in certain Decorative hangings crafted by the Carpenter NPC.

Spice-Related Consumables:

• Glow Soup: A 45-minute food buff granting +5 Intelligence and +60 Shroud Protection.
• Stir-Fried Vegetables: A 45-minute food buff granting +5 Dexterity. These are particularly useful for Wand, Mage, or Ranged Assassin builds.
