Begin your Dragon Quest II journey in Midenhall, learn about Hargon, and find the Copper Sword and 50G.
The King of Midenhall receives dire news from a dying guard; Hargon is revealed as the main villain. You, the son of the King of Midenhall and a descendant of Erdrick and the Hero/Gwaelin from the original Dragon Quest, must defeat this self-styled "High Priest" to save the world.
Follow the King down the stairs. He will instruct you to find your relatives, who are also of Erdrick's line. The King will suggest names for your companions, but you can choose your own if you select "No." Note that names like "Jesus" or "Christ" are not permitted.
After naming your companions, finish speaking with the King. Open the Treasure Chest beside you to receive a COPPER SWORD and 50G. You can equip your new weapon using the Item Menu or the Misc. Menu.
To save your progress with the King, exit the Castle through the southern entrance and then re-enter.

- Inn Cost: 3G per member
- You can re-enter Midenhall Castle after exiting to save your game.
