    Runciter's Animals (Outside): Speak to Officer Leary until he repeats himself. Note the KIA (Know It All) function. Examine the fire hydrant, chrome piece, and doorway. Talk to Officer Leary again to have him interview the crowd.

    Runciter's Animals (Inside): Speak to Runciter, using all conversation threads. Obtain Lucy Devlan's reference letter. Examine the video camera and collect Shell Casings on the ground. In Lucy's Corner, examine the Toy Dog, Chopstick Wrapper, and Candy Bar. Exit the store.

    Runciter's Animals (Outside): Speak to Officer Leary again for crowd interview information.

    Police Headquarters (Roof): Enter your spinner and travel to the Police Headquarters. Head to the elevator.

    Police Headquarters (Mainframe and Shooting Range): Enter the ESPER room. Download your KIA clues to the computer. Examine Runciter's surveillance footage on the center monitor. In the first picture, zoom in on the area next to the TV to focus on Lucy's jewelry and get a hardcopy. Zoom in on Lucy's desk and the sushi menu for another hardcopy. In the second picture, zoom in on the shadow in the doorway to identify a suspect and get a hardcopy. Zoom in on the black car behind the suspect for a final hardcopy of this disk. Optionally, visit the shooting range. Exit the ESPER room and return to the elevator.

    Chinatown (Howie Lee's Sushi Bar): Jump in your spinner and travel to Chinatown. Speak to the comedian Gordo, then Howie Lee behind the counter, using all conversation threads. Follow Zuben to the kitchen.

    Chinatown (Kitchen): Talk to Zuben about Lucy or the VK test. Click rapidly on the right side of the screen. Dodge the boiling pot contents and run out the back door in pursuit of Zuben.

    Chinatown (Alley): Follow Zuben around the corner. You can kill the hobo next to the dumpster, search the dumpster for a license plate, and dispose of the hobo's body. You now have two choices for dealing with Zuben.

    KILLING ZUBEN - Choice #1 (Warehouse): Enter the door by the dumpster. Run up the stairs on the right. Continue to the end of the hall where Zuben will drop down. You can choose to kill him or spare him. If you kill him, search his body for a picture. Return downstairs and speak to the cops.

    KILLING ZUBEN - Choice #2 (Apartment): Run in the opposite direction from the dumpster down the alley. Jump in your spinner and head to your apartment. Approach the elevator on the roof; Zuben will approach. Kill him or spare him. If you kill him, Gaff will speak to you. Search Zuben's body for a picture. Get into the elevator.

    McCoy's Apartment (Elevator): Select the middle button to go to Ray's room (88f).

    McCoy's Apartment (88f): Meet Maggie. You can feed her. Note the ESPER machine on the table. Head into Ray's bedroom. After Ray reflects on the day on the balcony, click on the bed to sleep and end Act I.
