Walkthrough for Warcraft III: Reforged Chapter Two: Departures (ROCWP2). Learn how to establish your base, train grunts, and rescue Grom.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Start by having your peon harvest gold. Train 3 additional peons and send them to the gold mine.
  2. 2
Train 4 more peons from the great hall and set its rally point to the mine.
  3. 3
Assemble structures: start with the war mill (near the north or east forest), then the barracks, and finally the burrow.
  4. 4
Shift command peons to return to harvesting after building.
  5. 5
Once the war mill is up, assign 3 peons to lumber.
  6. 6
Upgrade structures from the war mill as resources allow.
  7. 7
Take a peon off gold to build the burrow.
  8. 8
Train grunts from the barracks. You can build a second burrow and assign a peon to lumber.
  9. 9
Hotkey your grunts and Thrall before the upcoming cut-scene.
  10. 10
On your fifth grunt, the next objective is available. Send your group to the watch towers being attacked, down the path to the bridge. Click attack and then click on the radar where it is flashing red to engage the Alliance.
  11. 11
Continue producing grunts and rally them to Thrall (select barracks, right-click Thrall).
  12. 12
Hotkey the barracks (e.g., 2 or 3) to easily refresh the grunt training queue.
  13. 13
If resources allow, build 3 more burrows, assigning a peon to lumber afterward.
  14. 14
Continue attacking, with grunts reinforcing you. Refresh the grunt queue by hitting the barracks hotkey.
  15. 15
Across the bridge, head down and then left to a gate with two towers. Destroy the towers and the gate.
  16. 16
Continue northwest and right-click the cage to free a grunt.
  17. 17
If you have more than 11 grunts, create a new attack group (e.g., hotkey 2) and include Thrall to utilize his abilities.
  18. 18
Change your rally point off Thrall to a point shortly behind your attack group and advance it as needed.
  19. 19
To modify hotkey groups: hold Shift to add/deselect units. Hold Shift and click a target area of grunts to add them. Hold Control and click a unit type to select all of that type in a group. Hold Control + Shift and click a unit to add all nearby units of that type to a selected group.
  20. 20
Continue down and kill a footman. Add the shaman found here to group two (Shift+2).
  21. 21
Move left to kill another footman, then up to kill 2 riflemen.
  22. 22
Head left to destroy 3 more cages and obtain 3 more grunts. Add them to hotkey group 2 or create a third group.
  23. 23
Continue north to a gate and kill the two knights in front. Micro your units by pulling back those under heavy attack.
  24. 24
Attack the gate. On the other side, you will find more enemies.
Tips
  • Always have a rally point set for peons to automatically harvest gold or lumber.
  • When building, shift command peons to return to harvesting duties afterward.
  • Keep producing units throughout the campaign.
  • Hotkey your barracks for easy grunt training.
  • Hotkey your units and heroes for quick access to abilities and commands.
  • When adding new units to a hotkey group, resave the entire group to the hotkey (e.g., Shift+2).
  • When microing, pull back units under heavy attack just enough to stop the attack, allowing them to return to combat on their own.
  • Rescue Grom.
  • Unlock next mission objective upon training the fifth grunt.
