Walkthrough

    When Super Mecha Sonic flies across the screen, he will perform three different attacks.

    If you stay underneath him, he will spin down towards you.

    If you stay near the Master Emerald, he will charge towards you or fire three energy balls.

    If he charges, jump left to dodge.

    If he fires energy balls, jump to dodge them.

    While in his Super Form, Mecha Sonic is invincible.

    When Super Mecha Sonic fires three energy balls, he reverts to regular Mecha Sonic, making him vulnerable.

    You can score up to 4 hits before he jumps onto the Master Emerald and becomes invincible again.

    You cannot hit him while he is recharging or spinning.

    After six hits, Super Mecha Sonic will float across the screen shooting rings in eight directions instead of recharging.

    You can only hit him when he turns back into regular Mecha Sonic for a few seconds.

    Hit him twice in this state to win the final fight.
Tips
  • Tails, if playing as Sonic & Tails, is invincible and can assist in boss fights.
  • Tails can collect Rings that add to your total but cannot open Item Boxes.
  • If Tails loses a life or you move too far ahead, he will fly back to the screen.

Notes on Endings:

  • If you collected all 7 Chaos Emeralds, Knuckles appears with the Master Emerald on Sonic's biplane as the Floating Island rises.
  • If you collected 0-6 Chaos Emeralds, an exhausted Knuckles appears without the Master Emerald as the Floating Island descends into the sea.
  • The ending cutscene varies: with all Chaos Emeralds, it shows Knuckles in space; without them, it shows a short-circuiting Mecha Sonic who self-repairs but cannot activate the Master Emerald.

Character Selection:

After selecting 1-Player on the Title Screen, choose a Save File and select your characters: Sonic & Tails, Sonic Alone, Tails Alone, or Knuckles Alone. You can also select 'No Save File' to not save progress.
