This guide details the locations and methods for acquiring all upgrades in Sonic Adventure 2.

Flame Ring

• Location: Radical Highway
• Upgrades Needed: Air Shoes
• Description: Used to bust metal containers open.

To find the Flame Ring, proceed through Radical Highway until you reach an area with stacked wooden containers and a "Road Closed Ahead" sign. Use the wooden containers or a pulley to reach a higher platform. Turn back and perform a somersault under a spinning object. Continue to a Chao, then use the Air Shoes to dash through a line of rings. This will lead you to a spring that bounces you directly to the Flame Ring.

Air Shoes

• Location: White Jungle
• Upgrades Needed: None
• Description: Allows you to dash through a line of rings.

In White Jungle, break through the 4 crates blocking your path and follow the route until you swing on a vine. After the vine, you will land on a platform with enemies and a Chao. Note the crate on the right side; break it open and drop down to find the Air Shoes.

Ancient Light

• Location: Sky Rail
• Upgrades Needed: None
• Description: Allows you to attack enemies in a row quickly.

At the beginning of Sky Rail, follow the path until you reach the first rocket. Instead of taking the rocket, jump across and use a homing attack on a nearby enemy. Land and run to the Chao box. Jump over the edge to trigger a line of enemies; perform a homing attack on them, which will lead you to a spring. This spring will launch you to the top where the Ancient Light is located.

Mystic Melody

• Location: Final Chase
• Upgrades Needed: None
• Description: Allows you to open up new paths or shortcuts when played at the ancient shrines.

Progress through Final Chase until you reach an area with three holes. After entering the center hole and exiting, you will be near vertical gravity tubes. Navigate through these tubes until you reach one surrounded by an electric field. Jump to this tube and ascend to the top to find the Mystic Melody.
