The Closer is a large, imposing enemy encountered in various locations throughout Silent Hill 3. It resembles the Mandarin from Silent Hill 2 and features large, padded arms and a peculiar head with a mouth on the front. In the endgame's Church, Closers appear in a stronger, faster, greenish form.

Locations: Nightmare, Central Square Shopping Center, Nightmare Mall, Hazel Street Subway Station (backtracking only), Brookhaven Hospital, Lakeside Amusement Park, Church.

Attacks: Closers primarily attack by thrusting their club-like arms forward, which is slow but damaging. They can also extend a sharp blade from their arm for more damage or swing their arms around their body for close-range hits.

Suggested Weapons: Handgun, Shotgun, Submachine Gun, Katana.

Strategy: Despite their size, Closers are slow and their attacks are well-telegraphed, making them easy to dodge or even run past. The best strategy is often to ignore them, especially when encountered in groups. If you choose to fight, the Handgun is effective from a distance; back away while firing. The Shotgun can be used by baiting attacks or attacking from behind. The Submachine Gun is rapid but ammo-scarce. For melee weapons like the Katana or Steel Pipe, sidestep between attacks to dodge.
