Your friendly guide to Santalune City in Pokémon X and Y! Discover shops, items, and prepare for your first Gym challenge.

Alright, welcome to Santalune City! It's not the biggest place, but it's got everything you need to get ready for your first Gym battle. Let's take a look around.

First up, right next to the Pokémon Center, you'll find the Pokémart. They've got all sorts of helpful battle-boosting items. You can grab an X Speed for 350, an X Attack for 500, or an X Defense for 550 if you're expecting a tough fight. They also stock Guard Specs, Dire Hits, X Accuracy, and X Sp. Atk and X Sp. Def, all at various prices. Stock up on what you think you'll need!

Right behind the Pokémon Center counter, you'll spot a change room. You can't do much with it now, but keep it in mind for later when you start collecting new clothes to customize your look. How stylish!

The PC next to the counter is your standard Pokémon storage. If you've caught more than six Pokémon and want to swap one out from storage into your party, now's the time to do it.

Next door to the Pokémon Center is the clothing shop. Step inside and check out the hats at the back. You might find something you like!

Feel free to snag any outfits you fancy. Once you're done shopping, head back to the Pokémon Center to change if you bought something. Then, head west from the Pokémon Center.

You'll see a house second from the end on your west. The girl inside will tell you how strong your bond is with the first Pokémon in your party. It's a nice way to see how much your Pokémon likes you!

The house at the very end of the street has a woman who can explain all about the Gym badges. It's good info to have, so give her a listen if you're curious.

After checking out those houses, head back east to the fountain. Go up to it, then head east again to the house at the end of that path. Pop inside and chat with the kid; they'll give you a Great Ball. These are super handy for catching tougher Pokémon!

Head back west to the fountain, then go to the house on the other side. A hiker inside wants to trade their Farfetch'd for your Bunnelby. If you've got a Bunnelby, it's a decent trade!

Back at the fountain again? Great. Now head north. You'll see the Trainers' School right in front of you. Go on in and take a look around. If you talk to the old man inside, he'll give you three X Attacks and three X Defenses. Score! The other folks and the whiteboard have info on battle statuses, but nothing else crucial.

Alright, let's head back outside. Go west first. You'll see Viola's sister blocking the path. You can't get by her until you defeat Viola, so don't worry about it for now. Keep going west and head up the stairs.

Go up to the flower box in front of the building and check the second tile from the left. You'll find a Super Potion hidden there!

Now, head back to the Trainers' School and go east. The Gym is right here! Talk to the person waiting outside. They'll challenge you to a Pokémon battle and give you roller skates if you win. These are awesome for getting around faster!

With those roller skates, you can zip around the region. Pretty neat!

You can head into the Gym now if you want, but the guide recommends clearing out Route 22 first. If you want to skip ahead to the Santalune City Gym, you can. Otherwise, head east from the Gym and keep going!
