Welcome to Laverre City! While the Gym is your ultimate goal here, there are many secrets and items to uncover before you challenge the Gym Leader.

Pokémart: The Pokémart sells valuable stat-boosting items like Protein, Iron, Calcium, Zinc, Carbos, and HP Up for 9,800 each.

Items and Encounters:

• Head east from the Pokémon Center and talk to the man by the gate. If you have a Pokémon shorter than 12 inches, he will give you a Poké Doll.
• The path to the next route is blocked by Team Flare.
• Head north from the Pokémon Center to find the Laverre City Gym. Note its location for later.
• Enter the building east of the Pokémon Center. Inside, a man can teach your starter Pokémon Fire Pledge, Water Pledge, or Grass Pledge, depending on their type. These moves can also be learned by traded or transferred starters. If two starters learn and use these moves together in a Double Battle, they receive a significant damage bonus.
• Explore behind buildings for hidden items.
• East of the Gym, before the stairs leading north, use your Dowsing Machine to find a hidden Ultra Ball.
• Go up the stairs to the north, then head west. Talk to the girl here to receive a Gengarite.
• In the house behind you, a man can give your Pokémon ribbons based on their friendship level, similar to the system in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.
• In the house next door, a woman can tell you which party Pokémon you had when you defeated each Gym Leader.
• The Poké Ball Factory is north of this area, but it's inaccessible until you defeat the Gym Leader.
• East of the previous house, check the mushrooms next to another house to find a Leaf Stone.
• Talk to the girl at the nearby lamppost. If you can show her a Pokémon over 9 feet 10 inches tall, she will give you another Poké Doll.
• A cafe is available for resting and talking with NPCs.

Once you've explored thoroughly and collected all available items, make your way to the Laverre City Gym to challenge the Gym Leader.
