Anistar City walkthrough for Pokémon X and Y! Face off against your rival, find an Escape Rope using the Dowsing Machine, and prepare to enter the Pokémon Gym.

Alright, you've made it to Anistar City! Before we dive into the Gym, there's a little something we need to take care of: a battle with your rival, Serena or Calem. They've caught a new Pokémon, an Eevee, and its type will depend on which starter you picked way back at the beginning. This is a pretty standard rival battle, so just use your strongest Pokémon and you should be fine.

Here's a look at their party, depending on your starter:

• If you chose Chespin: Meowstic (Level 44, Psychic), Absol (Level 44, Dark), Jolteon (Level 44, Electric), and Delphox (Level 46, Fire/Psychic).
• If you chose Fennekin: Meowstic (Level 44, Psychic), Absol (Level 44, Dark), Flareon (Level 44, Fire), and Greninja (Level 46, Water/Dark).
• If you chose Froakie: Meowstic (Level 44, Psychic), Absol (Level 44, Dark), Vaporeon (Level 44, Water), and Chesnaught (Level 46, Grass/Fighting).

Don't worry too much about this battle; after you defeat them, your rival will kindly heal up your entire party. How thoughtful!

Now, it's time for a little treasure hunt. Turn on your Dowsing Machine and head east through the city. Keep your eyes peeled, especially near the lookout point. You should be able to find an Escape Rope there. Grab it – it's always good to have one handy!
