Learn how to effectively use Human Shields and Pistolwhipping in Hitman: Blood Money. Master these techniques to incapacitate enemies and navigate tricky situations.

This section of the Hitman: Blood Money guide covers advanced combat and stealth techniques: using Sedatives, Poison, Garrotes, Human Shields, and Pistolwhipping.

Basic Incapacitation:

1. Get close behind a person.
2. Bring out your Sedative, Poison, or Fiber Wire.
3. Enter Sneak Mode and creep up on the person.
4. Position the camera to center the reticle on your victim's back.
5. Attack your victim.

When a person is Sedated or Poisoned, they will remain incapacitated for the rest of the mission unless found and awakened. Using the Fiber Wire (Garrote) is a method to kill a target.

Human Shields:

Taking a person as a Human Shield (also known as Grabbing or Grab) is useful for escaping tight situations and moving people out of the way. To perform a Grab:

1. Sneak up on someone.
2. While Sneaking, bring out a Pistol, one-handed Sub-Machine Gun, or Nailer.
3. Position the camera to center the reticle on your victim's back.
4. Perform the "Human Shield" action when prompted.

While holding a hostage, enemies will be hesitant to fire for fear of hitting the hostage. However, they may still fire if they have a clear shot without hitting the hostage. On higher difficulties, enemies might fire on both of you, killing the hostage. Be aware that hostages may make noise, potentially alerting nearby guards.

When you have a hostage, you can perform the following actions:

• Move: Move yourself and the hostage around, similar to dragging a body but keeping the hostage conscious.
• Drop Body: Release the hostage harmlessly by throwing them to the ground. Be cautious, as dropping a hostage from the top of stairs can result in their death. This action is typically performed by pressing Down on the D-Pad or the X Button.
• Knock Out Victim (Pistolwhipping): Release the hostage while rendering them unconscious. This is also known as Pistolwhipping (or Whipping/Whip). Like Sedative, this incapacitation lasts for the remainder of the mission unless the person is found and awakened. Pistolwhipping has unlimited uses and is a powerful way to safely move individuals out of the way.

Examples of usage include: "Grab the Guard, move him to the Container, and Whip him."
