How to Start the Clayface Case

Learn how to start the Clayface Case in Gotham Knights. Follow these steps to find Clay Mimics in New Gotham and collect samples to unlock the case.

Alright, so you want to get started on the Clayface Case in Gotham Knights? It's not immediately obvious how to kick it off, but don't worry, I've got you covered. First things first, you'll need to have completed Case 2 of the main story. Once that's done, you can start looking for the first part of Clayface's Case, which is called 'The Malleable Mugger'. You might not see it pop up in your Cases menu right away, so don't stress if it's not there until you've returned to The Belfry after dealing with enough Clay Mimics.

Here's the main task to get the ball rolling: head over to the West End of New Gotham. This is the westernmost part of the city. Once you're there, start scanning for crimes using your AR. Almost all the crimes you find at this point should be committed by Clay Mimics. Your goal is to defeat them and collect a total of 5 clay samples. You'll know you're doing it right because your character will mention collecting samples. Once you've bagged those 5 samples, head back to The Belfry, and you'll be able to start the Clayface Case from there.

Quick heads-up on the Clay Mimics: they're pretty resistant to Freeze damage and completely immune to Shock. Your best bet is to hit them with Fire. These same elemental resistances and weaknesses will carry over to Clayface himself when you eventually face him in boss battles, so keep that in mind!
