To earn the Expert Crime Fighter achievement/trophy in Gotham Knights, you must _”Prevent 250 crimes in Gotham City”_.

Crimes are a core open-world gameplay element in Gotham Knights. They consist of both opportunistic crimes and premeditated crimes. Opportunistic crimes are marked by a white triangle on the map and compass when you’re nearby. They usually involve several thugs engaged in minor criminal acts, such as threatening a cop or civilian, or attempting to break into property. Premeditated crimes are larger-scale heists with varying objectives depending on the type of crime (Criminal Deals, Witness Under Attack, Bomb Threat, etc.). While premeditated crimes can have fail states, the general objective at most crimes is to defeat the criminals and ensure no targeted civilian, cop, or witness gets injured.

Use AR Tracking or your compass to locate opportunistic crimes, which are marked with white triangles. While the specifics vary, opportunistic crimes almost always involve confronting some ne’er-do-wells.

As expected in Gotham City, crime abounds when the sun goes down. You’ll usually find at least half a dozen premeditated crimes every patrol, as well as several opportunistic crimes in each district. You’ll need to clear Gotham City of crime fully numerous times to hit the 250 crimes required for this achievement. Stopping crime is something you will do as part of the main questline and if you want to earn other achievements like [Not On My Watch], [Protector of Gotham], and [Dressed to Impress].

Don’t worry too much about the “Expert Crime Fighter” achievement. All crimes count towards it, regardless of whether it’s an opportunistic or premeditated crime, the type of premeditated crime, or the faction perpetrating it. There are many crimes available each patrol. Focus on other objectives, and if this achievement doesn’t pop before you complete everything else (which is unlikely), simply start a new patrol and hunt down those white triangles on your map until it does.
