How to Equip Modchips

Alright, so you're starting to find these things called modchips around level ten, huh? They're pretty neat because they let you tweak your gear, giving you bonuses to things like your Health, critical damage, or elemental effects on your attacks. Plus, slapping a modchip onto a piece of gear actually bumps up its power rating. Just remember, like everything else in Gotham Knights, modchips come in different levels and rarities, and you'll snag 'em from defeating enemies, solving crimes, finishing cases, and looting chests.

To actually get these modchips onto your gear, you'll need equipment that has modchip slots. Generally, the rarer and higher-level your gear is, the more likely it is to have these slots. It's a bit of a gamble, though, so always double-check for mod slots before you craft new gear, especially if you've got two blueprints that look pretty similar otherwise. Those modchip bonuses can totally make one piece of gear way better than another.

You'll spot mod slots on your gear as colored dots – these usually show the rarity of the mod already installed, or a gray dot means the slot's empty. Sometimes, you'll see them as octagonal shapes, also color-coded to hint at the mod's rarity.

Now, equipping them is pretty straightforward, and you've got two main ways to do it:

• From the “Gears/Loadout” menu: Pick a piece of gear that has mod slots. Then, just press the button (it's usually a specific button prompt shown on-screen, like a square or 'X') to open up a menu. On the left side, you'll see all the modchips that can fit into that gear. Select the ones you want, and boom – they're installed!
• From the “Gears/Mods” menu: This is another handy way. Here, you'll see your suit, melee, and ranged modchips all listed out. Choose the modchip you want to install, and the game will show you a list of all the gear it's compatible with. Just pick the piece of gear you want to use it on, and it'll be installed.

Need to swap things around later? No problem. You can unequip modchips from the “Gears/Mods” menu too. Just select the modchip you want to remove and press the button prompt for unequipping (again, check the on-screen prompts, it might be a specific button like Triangle or 'Y'). Easy peasy.
