Workshops cost 200 gold per tile and have a research value of 9000. The shortcut key for the Workshop is 'W'. Workshops attract Trolls, who are the most proficient manufacturers.

The size of a Workshop influences not only its efficiency but also which items can be built. Larger Workshops are required for more complex traps and doors.

Trap types and their required Workshop size (in tiles):

• Alarm: 1 tile
• Poison Gas: 10 tiles
• Lightning: 13 tiles
• Lava: 17 tiles
• Word-of-Power: 21 tiles
• Boulder: 17 tiles

Door types and their required Workshop size (in tiles):

• Wooden: 10 tiles
• Braced: 13 tiles
• Iron: 17 tiles
• Magic: 21 tiles

While Trolls are the best manufacturers, other creatures like Bile Demons, Orcs, and Dwarfs also have good manufacturing skills.
