Puzzle Room

Navigate the dark and tricky Puzzle Room in Dragon Quest VI. Solve puzzles, find the Dancer's Costume, and defeat the boss Murdaw to progress.

Walkthrough:

1. Enter the Puzzle Room area. The doors on the first level are locked. Go down the stairs to the basement.
2. Find and step on the two small yellow switches in the basement (left switch opens the left door, right switch opens the right door). Metal Slimes may appear here; equip piercing weapons.
3. Enter the now unlocked doors. In the left basement room, step on all four yellow switches to reveal four metal gratings, allowing light into the dark room above.
4. Enter the dark room and carefully walk along the narrow pathways. The camera angle cannot be changed, and battles can interrupt your progress.
5. In the upper section, walk right, hugging the lower wall, then go up to find a treasure chest containing a [DANCER'S COSTUME].
6. From the chest, head down the path. Turn left at the south wall to find another dark area.
7. Edge around the wall to the left to find steps leading up to the middle area of the upper floor.
8. Press the yellow switch to open the grating and let in more light.
9. Return to the start of the area to access the safe path that goes right from the two pillars on the left. The quickest route is to jump down the gap into the lower right basement and re-enter the left basement room.
10. Descend the stairs in the small room in the middle of the basement, then go down again to find yourself in a large room with the boss, Murdaw.
11. Prepare for the boss fight: check health, add healing items, and equip suitable armor (e.g., Platinum Armour, Dragon Shield, Enchanted Armour, Iron Cuirass). Ensure Milly has MP for Evac or carry Magic Water.
12. Boss Fight: Murdaw
• Recommended levels: Hero 18, Carver 19, Milly 16, Ashlynn 11.
• Cast Sap (Hero, Ashlynn), Double Up (Carver), and Buff (Milly on Ashlynn) on the first turn.
• On the second turn, attack with Carver and Hero, Buff Ashlynn again, and have her use an attack spell.
