Find the Seeds of Reason in Dragon Quest VI's Hazy Heights and recruit Amos. Learn tactics for battling Rams and find the Morning Star.
- Access to Scrimsley.
Walkthrough
- 1From Scrimsley, head north-east through the mountain gap and continue north until you find cliffs with steps. Enter this area to reach the bottom of Hazy Heights.
- 2Climb the first ladder and speak to the man who confirms the existence of the Seeds of Reason.
- 3Enter the first cave. Take the stairs down to the next floor. Avoid the dead-end path.
- 4Exit the small cave to a ledge. Climb the ladder and go left to find a hole in the rock.
- 5Inside this cave, walk up between the pools of water to find another set of stairs. This leads to a dead end with a treasure chest containing a [MORNING STAR] weapon.
- 6Return to the outside ledge. Head all the way right, under the bridge, to find a ladder leading down.
- 7Go down and right to find another hole in the rock wall.
- 8Take a few steps left to reach steps leading to the middle area of the cave. Climb the stairs to the next floor.
- 9Walk down the small cave to the outer ledge and head left for another ladder.
- 10Climb this ladder, then the next, and cross the bridge to the left.
- 11Enter another cave and go left and down to exit to another ledge (this is the cave where you found the Morning Star).
- 12Go left, up another ladder, then right. Ascend the last ladder to reach the top of Hazy Heights.
- 13Attempt to uproot the plant. You will then need to search the ground for the [SEEDS OF REASON]. Use the "Examine" option. The seeds are found at the back of the plant, one step away from it.
- 14Talk to the plant again.
- 15Zoom back to Scrimsley.
- 16Speak to Amos and answer "Yes, there is something we want!".
- 17Talk to him again and answer "Yes" to have him join your party.
- 18Leave town, and Amos will be in the Wagon and ready to command.

- Amos joins at Level 15. His equipment includes a Cautery Sword, Full Plate Armour, Iron Shield, and Iron Mask. He can also equip the Dragon Shield and Platinum Mail.
- Amos's Megamorphasis skill does not use MP and allows him to perform a powerful all-enemy ground stomping attack, among others. However, you cannot control him during this form, and his attacks are random.
