Learn the strategy to defeat the Bloodreaper boss on Floor 4 of Dragon Quest VI. Get tips on healing, buffs, and the rewards you'll receive.

Alright, so you've made it to Floor 4! Milly might have been using up her MP a bit much earlier, but don't worry, we can fix that. Pop some Herbs to get everyone back to full health. It's time to face the boss here.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
    Boss Fight: Bloodreaper
    • Start by having the Hero cast Sap on the Bloodreaper twice.
  2. 2
Have Carver use his Flying Knee attack on each turn. With Sap active, this should deal around 32 damage.
  3. 3
Keep an eye on your party's health and use Herbs to heal whenever necessary.
  4. 4
The Bloodreaper can also use Sap, so if Milly still has MP, she can try to counter it, though it's unlikely if she's already depleted her MP.
  5. 5
The boss has a move where it flashes a bright light, dazzling everyone and causing attacks to miss.
  6. 6
It also uses Buff on itself. If you see this happening, immediately cast Sap again.
  7. 7
Keep up the pressure with Carver's Flying Knee. Milly can also contribute, and her knife has a chance to land a critical hit.
  8. 8
For defeating the Bloodreaper, you'll earn 260 experience points and 370 Gold Coins.
  9. 9
    After the Battle
    • Walk forward to the font and inspect it to receive a [DREAM DEW].
  10. 10
Unfortunately, you'll need to backtrack out of the area. I tried using Holy Water to reduce random encounters, but it didn't seem very effective.
  11. 11
At this point, both the Hero and Carver should be around level 13, with Carver leveling up quite quickly.
  12. 12
    Exiting Floor 4
    • It's fairly straightforward to get back. Make your way through the blue caverns.
  13. 13
When you reach the second floor, walk left, then head up until you see the pool on the right.
  14. 14
Go up, past the pool, and turn left at the T-junction to find the stairs leading to the first floor.
  15. 15
From there, simply walk right to reach the stairs to the world map.
  16. 16
You can use Zoom, a Chimaera Wing, or just walk the short distance back to Luca's abode. Once there, you'll be told to rest for the night.
  17. 17
The Next Day and New Orders
    • The following day, you'll become visible again and get to keep the Dream Dew. This item can be used on anyone you meet who is invisible.
  18. 18
Luca will give you your next set of instructions: head to Port Haven and take the ferry to Somnia to meet the king.
  19. 19
    Milly Joins the Party
    • Milly will now join your party! You can finally change her equipment and control her actions.
  20. 20
Take a look at her stats: she has high Style, Agility, and Wisdom. You might have already noticed her knife's critical hit potential.
  21. 21
She can equip items like the Silver Tiara, Fur Hood, and Gold Ring, along with the Lucida Shard (though not all at once, of course!).
  22. 22
A key spell Milly learns is Evac at level 7, which allows you to instantly leave dungeons, caves, and towers.

Guidance System:

Remember, if you ever get stuck and aren't sure what to do next, you can return to Luca. She'll read your fortune, which basically means she'll give you a hint or tell you directly what to do. She also offers free rest, so it's a good spot to visit if you need to recover.
