Optimize your Aion PvE performance. This build guide offers feedback and strategies for efficient questing, instance mastery, and maximizing your Daeva's poten.

Welcome, Daeva, to the dedicated PvE Feedback section. This guide aims to provide actionable strategies and insights for optimizing your performance and experience in Aion's diverse Player-versus-Environment content. We'll cover everything from efficient questing to mastering challenging instances, ensuring you're always one step ahead.

Efficient Questing & Leveling

Maximizing your experience gain and minimizing downtime is crucial for efficient leveling. Focus on these key areas:

  • Chain Quests (Campaigns): Always prioritize these. They offer significant XP, valuable gear, and unlock crucial game features. Examples include the "A New Threat" campaign in Verteron for Elyos, or "The Shugo's Secret" in Altgard for Asmodians.
  • Repeatable Quests: Look for quests marked with a blue arrow. These are excellent for filling gaps between campaign quests or when you need a quick XP boost. Good examples are the "[Repeat] Eliminating Kobolds" in Poeta or the "[Repeat] Destroying Mau" in Ishalgen.
  • Gathering & Crafting Quests: While not always the fastest XP, these can provide valuable materials and boost your crafting skills, which are essential for endgame. Consider completing quests like "The Essence of Life" (gathering Aether) or initial crafting profession quests in Sanctum/Pandaemonium.
  • Grouping for Quests: Many quests, especially those involving elite mobs or instanced areas, are significantly faster and safer with a group. Use the "Find Group" tool (Shift+V by default) to locate others.

Instance Strategies: Early Game (Levels 20-40)

Mastering early instances sets the foundation for more challenging content. Here’s a breakdown of key strategies for two popular dungeons:

Nochsana Training Camp (Level 25-30)

This instance is a great introduction to group mechanics. Your primary goal is to defeat Commander Bakarma.

  • Group Composition: A standard group of 1 Tank (Templar/Glad), 1 Healer (Cleric), and 3 DPS (Sorcerer, Ranger, Assassin, Spiritmaster) is ideal.
  • Trash Mobs: Most trash mobs are straightforward. Prioritize ranged attackers and healers first. Be wary of the Nochsana Elite Guard who can hit hard.
  • Mini-Boss: Centurion Raging Vasharti: This boss has a frontal cone attack. Tanks should face him away from the group. DPS should avoid standing in front of him.
  • Final Boss: Commander Bakarma:
    • Adds: Bakarma periodically summons Nochsana Elite Soldiers. DPS should switch to these immediately to prevent them from overwhelming the healer.
    • AoE Attack: Bakarma has a ground-targeted AoE. Watch for the red circles and move out of them.
    • Enrage: If the fight drags on too long, Bakarma will enrage, dealing significantly more damage. Focus on burst DPS during this phase.
  • Key Loot: Bakarma's Greatsword, Bakarma's Leather Tunic, Nochsana Commander's Shield.
Fire Temple (Level 30-40)

Fire Temple introduces more complex mechanics and requires better coordination.

  • Group Composition: 1 Tank, 1 Healer, 3 DPS. A Spiritmaster can be very useful for dispelling debuffs.
  • Pathing: There are multiple paths. The most common is the "short path" to reach Brigade General Tahabata quickly.
  • Mini-Boss: Flame Guard Vanktrist:
    • Fire Breath: A strong frontal cone attack. Tank should position him carefully.
    • Summon Adds: Summons Flame Guard Minions. DPS should quickly eliminate these.
  • Mini-Boss: Debilkarim the Drake:
    • Stun: Debilkarim has a powerful stun. Healers should be ready to cleanse or heal through it.
    • AoE: He also has a moderate AoE. Melee DPS should be careful.
  • Final Boss: Brigade General Tahabata:
    • Flame Shock: A powerful single-target attack that can one-shot squishy players. Healers must anticipate and pre-cast heals.
    • Fireball Barrage: Tahabata will cast multiple fireballs. Spread out to minimize damage.
    • Summon Lava Elemental: Periodically summons a Lava Elemental. This elemental must be killed quickly as it applies a stacking debuff.
    • Enrage Timer: Tahabata has a strict enrage timer. DPS must be consistent.
  • Key Loot: Tahabata's Spear, Tahabata's Orb, Tahabata's Dagger, Fire Temple Accessories (rings, earrings, necklace).

Gear Progression & Enhancements

Understanding how to gear up effectively is paramount for PvE success.

  1. Quest Rewards: Early game gear primarily comes from campaign and regular quests. Always choose the gear that best suits your class and role.
  2. Crafted Gear: Crafting professions like Weaponsmithing, Armorsmithing, and Tailoring can provide excellent gear, especially for specific slots. Look for designs like Expert Balaur Scale Armor or Expert Balaur Hide Bow.
  3. Instance Drops: As detailed above, instances are a primary source of powerful equipment. Run them repeatedly for desired drops.
  4. Manastones: Socketing Manastones is crucial.
    • DPS: Focus on Attack +5 and Crit Strike +17 (or higher tiers).
    • Tanks: Prioritize HP +75 and Block +20 (for Templars) or Parry +20 (for Gladiators).
    • Healers: Magic Boost +16 and HP +75 are good choices.
  5. Enchanting: Use Enchantment Stones (obtained from extracting gear or drops) to enhance your weapons and armor. Higher enchant levels significantly boost stats. Always prioritize enchanting your weapon first.

Consumables & Buffs

Never underestimate the power of consumables. They can make the difference between success and failure.

  • Potions: Always carry Major Healing Potions, Major Mana Potions, and Greater Healing Potions. For specific situations, Greater Anti-Shock Scrolls can be life-savers.
  • Food & Drinks: Use food and drink buffs for stat increases. Examples include Kaisinel's Stew (HP/MP regen), Crispy Balaur Meat Skewers (Attack/Crit), or Sweet Aether Jelly (Magic Boost/Accuracy).
  • Scrolls: Greater Running Scrolls, Greater Courage Scrolls (Attack), and Greater Awakening Scrolls (Magic Boost) are essential for maximizing your output.
  • Candies: Various candies offer temporary stat boosts or utility. The Sugarplum Candy for movement speed or Honey Cake for HP/MP regeneration are common.
