Gladiator: Blade Storm Mastery

The Gladiator, a master of melee combat, excels at area-of-effect damage and crowd control. One of their signature abilities, Blade Storm, is a potent skill that, when used correctly, can decimate groups of enemies or turn the tide in a heated battle. This guide will focus on maximizing its effectiveness.

• Skill Overview: Blade Storm is a frontal cone AoE attack that deals significant physical damage to all enemies within its range. It has a relatively short cooldown, making it a staple in both PvE and PvP rotations.
• Optimal PvE Application:
  1. Gathering Mobs: Before initiating Blade Storm, ensure you have a sufficient number of enemies grouped together. In areas like the Draupnir Cave or Dark Poeta, look for clusters of 3-5 mobs. Use skills like Body Smash or Ferocious Strike to aggro and pull them into a tight formation.
  2. Positioning is Key: Stand slightly in front of the gathered enemies, ensuring the cone AoE will hit as many targets as possible. Avoid facing a single enemy directly if there are others to your sides.
  3. Pre-Buffing: Prior to casting Blade Storm, activate your damage-boosting buffs such as Oath of Accuracy (if available) and Draining Blow for increased damage output. If you anticipate taking damage, consider using Iron Skin beforehand.

• PvP Strategy: The Fear-Erosion Combo
  1. Initial Engagement: Identify your primary target, typically a healer or a high-damage dealer. Begin with Magic Implosion or Stone Shock to initiate combat and apply initial pressure.
  2. Applying Fear: Immediately cast Fear on your target. The goal is to isolate them and prevent them from healing or attacking. Ensure you have a clear line of sight and are within range (typically 25m).
  3. Debuffing with Erosion: While your target is feared and running, quickly cast Spirit Erosion. This is crucial as it sets up massive burst damage. The debuff will apply even if the target is fleeing.
  4. Burst Damage Phase: Once Spirit Erosion is active, unleash your most damaging magical attacks. This includes skills like Ignite Aether, Infernal Pain, and Spirit Rupture. Your summoned spirit (e.g., Fire Spirit or Wind Spirit) should also be commanded to attack.
