Understanding the Basics of Enchantment

Enchantment is the primary method for increasing an item's base stats. Each successful enchantment level adds to the item's power, defense, or other relevant attributes. However, be aware that enchantment carries a risk of failure, especially at higher levels.

Required Materials:

• Enchantment Stones: These are the core materials for enchanting. They come in various tiers (e.g., Minor, Greater, Major) and are typically acquired from monster drops, quest rewards, or purchased from General Goods Merchants in major cities like Sanctum (for Elyos) or Pandaemonium (for Asmodians).
• Kinah: A certain amount of Kinah is required for each enchantment attempt, scaling with the item's rarity and current enchantment level.

Enchanting Process:

1. Locate an Enchantment NPC: Seek out an Equipment Enchanter NPC. These can be found in the main cities and some larger outposts. Look for an NPC with an anvil icon above their head.
2. Open the Enchantment Window: Interact with the Enchanter NPC to open the enchantment interface.
3. Place Your Item: Drag and drop the Weapon, Armor piece, or Accessory you wish to enchant into the designated slot.
4. Add Enchantment Stones: Place the appropriate tier of Enchantment Stones into their slot. The interface will show you the success chance.
5. Confirm Enchantment: Click the "Enchant" button.

Strategy Tip: For lower-level gear or less critical items, it's often more efficient to use lower-tier Enchantment Stones. Save your higher-tier stones for your best-in-slot equipment.

Advanced Upgrading: Manastone Socketing

Beyond basic enchantment, Manastones offer another layer of customization and power. Manastones are gems that can be socketed into items with available Manastone slots, providing specific stat bonuses.

Required Materials:

• Manastones: These come in various types, each granting a different stat (e.g., Attack, HP, Crit, Accuracy). They are obtained from monster drops, crafting, or the Broker.
• Kinah: Socketing Manastones also requires a Kinah fee.

Socketing Process:

1. Identify Socketable Items: Check your Equipment for items with empty Manastone slots. The number of slots varies by item rarity and type.
2. Open the Manastone Socketing Interface: Right-click on the Manastone you wish to socket, then click on the item you want to apply it to. Alternatively, visit a Manastone Remover NPC (often found near Enchanters) and select the "Socket Manastone" option.
3. Place Item and Manastone: Drag your item into the item slot and the Manastone into the Manastone slot.
4. Confirm Socketing: Click the "Socket" button.

Important Note: Socketing Manastones has a chance to fail, especially when attempting to fill multiple slots on a single item. If a Manastone socketing attempt fails, all previously socketed Manastones on that item will be destroyed. Plan your Manastone strategy carefully!

Manastone Removal:

If you wish to change the Manastones in an item, you can visit a Manastone Remover NPC. This process costs Kinah and will destroy the existing Manastones in the item, clearing all slots for new ones.

Combining & Fusing Weapons

For Weapons, Aion offers a unique "fusing" system that allows you to combine two weapons into one, granting the primary weapon the stats and appearance of the secondary weapon, along with a bonus. This is a high-end upgrade path for advanced players.

Required Materials:

• Primary Weapon: The weapon you want to keep as your main.
• Secondary Weapon: The weapon whose stats and appearance you want to merge into the primary.
• Kinah: A substantial Kinah fee is required.

Fusing Process:

1. Locate a Weapon Fuser NPC: These specialized NPCs are typically found in capital cities.
2. Open the Fusing Interface: Interact with the NPC.
3. Place Weapons: Drag your Primary Weapon into the top slot and your Secondary Weapon into the bottom slot.
4. Review and Confirm: The interface will display the resulting combined weapon's stats and appearance. Confirm if you are satisfied.

Considerations: Fusing is irreversible. Choose your secondary weapon wisely, as its stats will contribute to your primary weapon's overall power.

General Tips for Enchanting & Upgrading:

• Prioritize Your Main Gear: Focus your valuable Enchantment Stones and Manastones on your best-in-slot Weapons and Armor first.
• Utilize Safeguards (if available): Some events or cash shop items may offer enchantment safeguards that prevent item destruction or level loss on failure. Use them strategically on high-value items.
