First Meeting - Hillswatch

After you've dealt with the events at the Tang Emperor’s Palace in Chapter 1 and are heading towards Cloudspire, your first stop will be the ruined village of Hillswatch. Make your way to the very top. You'll pass through a dilapidated temple, and just beyond it, near a fire, you'll meet Li Dango and Sun Kewang for the very first time. Have a chat with Li Dango; he'll give you three Kong Wines before heading off.

Second Meeting - Mt. Zhenwu Antechamber

Before you dive into the Zhenwu Temple section of Chapter 3, take a detour to the Avian Marsh. Use the Shrine shortcut you might have found earlier and follow the path towards the tree branch routes. This will lead you inside a large tree, where two enemies are waiting. Inside, on the right, you'll find a crucial item: the Secret Letter. Make sure you grab this!

Once you have the letter, proceed through Zhenwu Temple until you reach the Antechamber Shrine, which is at the top of the main stairs. You'll find Li Dango here again. Talk to him once, and after he finishes speaking, talk to him a second time. Hand over the Secret Letter, and he'll move on once more.

Third Meeting - Overlook Ferry

After you've finished the fight at Altar Gate in Chapter 3, keep pushing through the cave instead of letting the Storyteller send you straight to Chapter 4. This path will lead you through a cave and eventually to Overlook Ferry. As you explore this area, you'll encounter one of two scenarios:

• If you've been following Li Dango's questline correctly: You'll find Li Dango and Sun Kewang here, preparing to depart. Speak with Li Dango. Then, head to the nearby Shrine, refresh the area, and return to where he was standing. He'll be gone, but you'll find the Serpent Fang, a new Longsword, left behind.
• If you haven't followed his questline properly: You'll still find Li Dango under the Overlook bridge, but he'll have succumbed to the Feathering and will attack you on sight. You'll need to defeat him. After the fight, you can loot the Serpent Fang from his body, plus an extra Lustrous Feather.
