Walkthrough
- 1Chapter 5 - White Tree: Progress through Chapter 5 to unlock a new area near the Capital Entrance shrine. Navigate to the large white tree within this area; an item pickup at the top contains a Lustrous Red Feather and an Avian Feather.
- 2Chapter 5 - The Panda: The Panda vendor in Chapter 5 also sells one Lustrous Red Feather for five Bamboo Shoots.
- 3Chapter 5 - Boatman's Quest (Conditional): In Chapter 5, select the top option at the riddle door near the Depths of the Capital. This leads to an encounter with the Boatman, who offers a Lustrous Red Feather as a reward. Note: Choosing this option locks you out of the Dream Sweet Deceit trophy ending. To achieve that ending, select the bottom option, which leads to the Shrine Dwelling area and a boss fight related to the White Robed Elder storyline.
- 4Chapter 2/3 - Li Dingo Questline (Conditional, Earliest): To obtain the earliest Lustrous Red Feather, ignore the Li Dingo and Sun Kewang questlines in Chapter 2. If you complete Chapter 3 in Mt Zhenwu first or ignore them throughout Chapter 2, Li Dingo will become a maddened NPC. He can be found directly below the Ferry Overlook Shrine. The Ferry Overlook shrine is accessible after defeating the Chapter 3 boss, proceeding through the tunnel, and exiting on the other side. Follow the path to the Ferry dock, turn around, and travel up the beach under the bridge. Defeating the maddened Li Dingo awards the Lustrous Red Feather. Note: Completing the Li Dingo questline normally will grant the Feathering longsword but not the Lustrous Red Feather.
Tips
- Some NPC quest lines offer Lustrous Red Feathers, but rewards can be missable depending on player choices and quest outcomes.
- The earliest Feather can be obtained by failing the Li Dingo questline, allowing for an earlier weapon power spike.
