Alright, let's get your civilization rolling! This section is all about setting up the core infrastructure to keep your little Nuggets happy and productive. Think of it as building the foundation for everything else you'll do in The Universim.

The Tutorial

When you first start, the game will offer a tutorial. It's a good idea to go through it, especially if you're new to the game. It'll walk you through the camera controls and some basic game mechanics. Don't skip it if you want a smoother start!

The Mother Planet

You'll land on your starting planet, which is randomly generated each time. It'll have familiar features like water, forests, and seasons, kind of like Earth. This is your blank canvas to build your civilization.

The Epicenter: Your First Building

The very first thing you'll place is the Epicenter. This is your civilization's heart. Once it's up, it'll spawn your first four Nuggets: two adults and two children. For the best start, try to place the Epicenter near a water source, a forest, and some loose rocks. Having these resources close by means your Nuggets won't waste precious time traveling.

To place it, just left-click where you want it. You'll get a confirmation prompt.

Construction: The Essentials

With your first Nuggets ready, it's time to build!

Water is Life

Your adult Nuggets will start gathering resources automatically. Your first priority should be building a Well. You can find it in the Buildings menu under the Epicenter category (click the hammer icon). Place it near a good water source – the game will show you a number indicating the quality of the source; aim for a high number!

While the Well is building, think about your other water needs. If you have multiple water sources, you can build more Water Pumps or even Fisher Piers for food. More water sources mean faster resource gathering.

Once the Well is done, build a Water Pump. Most other buildings need water to function, so this is crucial.

Keeping Them Fed

After the water situation is handled, it's time to think about food. You have two main options: fishing with Fisher Piers or building Farms. If you go the farming route, you might need another Water Pump to ensure your crops get enough water. Different crops have different needs regarding water, temperature, and growth time, so pick wisely. Generally, a crop that needs less water is a safer bet early on.

Maintenance Matters

As your population grows, you'll need to build an Engineer's Hut. This allows your Nuggets to repair buildings. If buildings fall into disrepair, they can collapse, forcing you to rebuild them from scratch, which is a huge waste of resources. You should also consider building a Hospital or a Cemetery. Injured Nuggets lose health over time if not treated, and unburied corpses can spread illness. Preventing mass illness and injury is key to survival.

Useful Accessories

Once the basics are covered, you can add some helpful structures. An Eatery lets you convert raw food into prepared meals, which is more efficient. A Forecast Tower will give you valuable information about upcoming weather and seasonal changes, helping you plan ahead.

Keep Repeating and Expanding

As your civilization grows, you'll constantly need to add more of these essential buildings – more Water Pumps, more Farms, more Hospitals, and so on. You need to keep up with the demands of your increasing population. The game currently has a population cap, but that's expected to change as development continues.
