Alright, so you've just booted up The Universim and you're wondering where to even begin? Don't worry, we've all been there! This guide is going to walk you through the absolute basics to get your little nuggets up and running. Think of it as your friendly nudge into godhood.

Getting Started

The Tutorial

First off, the game's gonna offer you a tutorial. Honestly, it's a good idea to take it. It'll show you the ropes on camera controls and some basic game mechanics. It's quick, painless, and sets you up right.

The Mother Planet

Once you're in, you'll see your starting planet, the 'Mother Planet.' It's randomly generated each time, so it'll always feel fresh. It's designed to be Earth-like, with water, greenery, seasons – all the good stuff. This is where your civilization's journey begins.

The Epicenter: Your First Building

Your very first action is to place the Epicenter. This is the heart of your settlement. Once it's built, it'll pop out four little nuggets to get you started – two adults and two kids. Super important tip: try to place your Epicenter near a water source, a forest, and some loose rocks. These are your immediate resources. Having them close means your nuggets won't waste precious time trekking across the map. When you're ready, just left-click where you want it. You'll get a confirmation prompt, so make sure it's the spot you want!

Construction: The Essentials

Water is Life

With your first four nuggets (the adults will get straight to work, the kids will wander – that's normal), your priority is water. You'll want to build a Well. Click that hammer icon in the bottom left to open the Buildings menu, then find the Well under the Epicenter category. You'll see its silhouette follow your mouse. Place it near a good water source – the game will show you numbers indicating the water quality; aim for the highest. While the Well is building, check out your surroundings. If you've got multiple water bodies nearby, you can plan for Water Pumps or Fisher Piers. More water sources mean faster resource gathering for these vital needs. Once the Well is done, build a Water Pump next. Most other buildings need it to function.

Fueling Your People: Food

After water, it's food time. You've got two main options: fishing with Fisher Piers or growing crops with Farms. If you go the farm route, you might need another Water Pump to keep those crops hydrated. Different crops have different needs – some prefer certain biomes or temperatures, some grow faster but yield less, others take longer but give you more. For a beginner, it's usually best to pick a crop that doesn't guzzle water.

Keeping Things Running: Maintenance

As your population grows, you'll get more adults working. Your next crucial building is the Engineer's Hut. This lets you repair buildings. Trust me, you don't want your hard-earned structures crumbling into dust – that's a huge resource drain. Also, start thinking about a Hospital or a Cemetery. Injured nuggets lose health if they're not treated, and dead nuggets can spread illness if not buried promptly. A widespread sickness or injury outbreak can quickly cripple your civilization.

Comforts and Foresight: Accessories

Once the basics are covered, you can add some nice-to-haves. Build an Eatery to turn raw food into prepared meals, which is more efficient. A Forecast Tower is also a great investment, giving you advance warning on weather and seasonal changes, so you can prepare.

Keep Growing: Repeat and Expand

The core loop of The Universim is about scaling up. As your population increases, you'll need more of everything: more Water Pumps, more Farms, more Fisher Piers, more Hospitals. Keep an eye on your nuggets' needs and build accordingly. The game's nugget population is capped for now, but that's set to change as development continues.
