The Gruntling Swarm

These small, numerous creatures are often the first alien threat you'll encounter. While individually weak, their strength lies in their sheer numbers. They tend to attack in waves, overwhelming unprepared defenses. Focus on area-of-effect (AoE) damage and robust defensive structures like turrets and walls to mitigate their impact. They are attracted to resource nodes, so be vigilant when establishing new mining operations.

The Stonehide Behemoth

A much larger and more dangerous threat, the Stonehide Behemoth is a slow-moving but incredibly resilient creature. Its thick hide makes it resistant to most early-game weaponry. Direct assaults are ill-advised. Instead, consider using specialized weaponry researched later in the game, such as plasma cannons, or luring it into pre-prepared traps or areas with high concentrations of defensive turrets. Its destruction often yields valuable rare resources.

The Void Lurker

These elusive creatures are masters of stealth and surprise. They often appear seemingly out of nowhere, targeting vulnerable Nuggets or structures. Their attacks can be devastating. Early detection is key. Researching advanced sensor technology and deploying watchtowers strategically can help identify them before they strike. Once spotted, focus fire with your most powerful units.

The Spore Bloom

While not directly aggressive, the Spore Bloom poses a significant environmental hazard. These stationary flora release toxic spores that can damage Nuggets and structures within a radius. They often appear in fertile but dangerous regions. The best approach is to clear them out using ranged attacks before settling the area. If they are too numerous or in an inaccessible location, consider researching atmospheric purifiers.
